Did you forget what you said or just refuse to acknowlegd it. "I'm more interested though in people who would give 50 picks, and keep at it, even if they only get 26/50".
Based upon your arguement that you dont trust someone that goes just 6 plays at 6-0, but rather you would trust someone how goes 26 out of 50 plays or 52-48 record. That is what you inferred. You just don't like when it is put into perspective.

Yes, I would trust that they are about a 52% picker. I'm not interested in someone who makes 6 picks and quits. It proves nothing.

Six picks means nothing. You can't make a living going 6-0 in your lifetime. Now go 55%-60% over the course of a year and then I am impressed.

When I first saw the slate of games for today, I would've thought that there'd be several picks. I guess I'm starting to get impatient. I want to see the reccord after many more picks. This one a day thing is difficult...........

Not me, I'm following out of interest, but I don't bet the NBA. I did for a time when the Pistons won the championship and I made a nice profit, but I don't watch it, so wouldn't bet it.

I missed a few games but from my win the other day, I now have more bonus money. The terms of the bonus were a free $100 bet where you receive the profits in bonus $$$ to bet on other stuff. I think the bonus money becomes real if you win. Anyway, I got the Raptors at +8, -110.

So do you list your record as 7-1 now since you won one of the games on your teaser, or 6-2 since you lost all of the money? Buzz, If you read all of my posts u would have noticed that I said I started back up sports betting shortly after that post. I started back last week after staying away for 10 years. I can thank steel for getting me interested again. I just started to look at NBA games and was having success, so I put in some games and did very well my first week back. Never gave up craps and poker though. Sports betting is not something I believe one will make a killing consistently with. Although with the internet and information available these days, I believe the true handicapper can get on the right side of plays more often then not... then the key is management and discipline.. not getting too greedy nor too emotional. Slow n steady wins the race.
Of all the sports, I believe baseball gives you the best chances of winning. NFL... forget it. College ball... forget it. NBA... pretty good. Hockey... Nope!

Yet another 1 and 2 day. I am now 7 and 17. That's a winning percentage of 29%. LOL.....but the flipside is 71%. So after 24 selections, in taking the opposite side of my picks, one would be 71%. I will now ask, is a 75% win rate conceivable? Or is everybody still of the mind that it is impossible?

Yea steel, it has been a fun sojourn. After giving up sports for so long, the past few days have reminded me why I better not get back into it. The spirits lured me into it allowing me to go 6-0 to start... coincidence? Well, lets just say, Im hanging it up. I gave back 6k this week to my book but Im still ahead from last week, so I know when to say when... and good night everyone.. see you at the craps and poker tables.
I will, however, give one last play today. Im going to put in a 3 team parlay for 1000 to mitigate my losses with the book man this week. If I lose, no biggie. If I win, I will be even for the week.

Im out. It has been fun steel. I won 12k from my book last week.. and this week Im paying him 7k. I will quit the sports arena for now with a 5k profit. I will be keeping a close eye on baseball which is where I feel the best chances of winning in sports are. Good luck to you.

It looks like the Clips were my only winner with Boston being a push. I now stand at 8 and 19. A 71% loss rate. I still say 75% is doable. Time will tell.

And it never fails........start to feel a bit comfortable about what is happening and then boom. It goes the other way. I went 3 and 0 yesterday and now the YTD stands at 11 and 19. Not totally discouraged yet however.

Thanks for the chart. It is interesting that if I take out the 0 and 9 start, then I am 52% at 11-10. However, just as interesting is that if I had gone 0 and 3 then I would be at 30% even without the 0 and 9 start. So I think that the law of small numbers applies here. The size of the sample is just too small at this point.
Will it converge? I don't know.

I will need to now go back and look, but it seems as if the home teams of my selections are doing a helluva better than the others......it seems.
Anyway, I went 1 and 2 yesterday. My YTD now stands at 12 and 21. 36% win rate. 64% loss rate. It keeps pulling me back into the darkside.........LOL

Yesterday was 0 and 1 (Spurs pushed). That leaves me at 16 and 23 YTD. There is 1 pick today. It is Sacramento +4.
BTW, since this is kinda like watching paint dry.......no streaking. I will be making a tweak to the formulae today. I don't know if I will have time to back test, but nonetheless, tomorrow's picks will probably be off of the new calcs.
