All very good points. You and I are on the same page with all of this.

I am going to Lone Star Park with a group of friends for Preakness day...but not very excited about the race right now. Will see if that changes as we get closer.

Beyer has a piece about the Derby DQ:
"The Kentucky Derby decision was a bad one"
https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/the-kentucky-derby-decision-was-a-bad-one-country-house-never-had-a-chance-of-winning/2019/05/06/59a584b4-701c-11e9-8be0-ca575670e91c_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.2419476f9bf9
My simple "summary" - There was a foul but it did not really change the outcome.
I disagree with him. He even admits it might have changed the outcome with this part about WoW:
"Without the trouble, he might have finished fifth. He would not have won."
Finishing 5th or 6th is actually very important. Just look at the payouts to the owners (from the chart above) of the top 5 finishers. And of course there is the Super High 5 wager betting pool (for the top 5 finishers). This year the pool paid 1 ticket:
$1.00 Super High Five (20-13-8-5-16) Paid: $544,185.90 (Pool total: $644,420)

Country House is out of the Preakness after developing a cough.

No Triple Crown this year, but will Maximum Security's handlers now run him in the Preakness? I would guess no, but we will see.

The horses owners are coming off horribly. Saw the guy on tv this morning claiming his horse was the victim.

Maximum Security's connection's decision not to run in the Preakness, I think, is a bad one.

looks like it was done out of bitterness

if he skips the Belmont too most of the other big races in the rest of the year allow older horses and he'll probably get beat by them

right now, his resume is not strong enough to command the giant stud fees they could command if he won the Preakness and Belmont

big mistake IMO

It would be very intriguing if War Of Will were to win the Preakness next week. Then we may get to see a rematch of the Derby between Maximum Sercurity and WoW in the Belmont Stakes. That would be awesome sauce!
Apparently Maximum Security's handlers have him @ Monmouth now and are pointing toward the Haskell Stakes (July 20th -new date btw). Maybe plans will change...
It is Improbable this hypothetical will occur, but I am Alwaysmining for a Win Win Win.

Alwaysmining will be overbet. I think Improbable takes this.

Put anothertwistafate in your trifecta also.

Edit - and Warriors Charge
