Oh and FU cindy. Another reason for me to hate them. They are -4, up by 3 TDs in 3rd quarter and kick a gw fg at the end of the game to win. Fu

TroopScott specified Rams Over, but it’s late because the game has started.

Does anyone have any objections to just giving him a loss for that one pick automatically since this would give him an 0-5 week otherwise? If there are more than zero objections, it’ll be 0-5 per the rules as TroopScott has already used his Skip Week.

This would make TroopScott 1-2 with both of his other Picks relevant to tomorrow night’s game if we don’t give him the automatic 0-5.

I don't object, but I think we should support your decision whichever it is, rather than open it to objections.

I think it's reasonable to only make the non-valid pick a loss and leave the other picks stand.

Is there a way to develop a prize for those whose overall standing may not be high at all but who did very well on weeks others were all near 0-5. These 'Crowd Contrarians' might have really good skills.

Sure. You take part of the buyin and divide it by 17. Then have a weekly prize of that amount for anyone that goes 5-0 or 6-0. Those that do good on down weeks are less likely to split it. And in weeks where no one wins it rolls into the next week like the lotto.

We will create an optional $10 add to the Entry Fee next year with all who contribute the $10 qualifying for the, “Perfect Week Prize.”

If there is no Perfect Week in Week 17 and any weeks leading up to Week 17, if applicable, the Perfect Week Prize for Week 17 will go to whoever has the best overall record out of everyone who contributed to the Perfect Week Prize.

For the purposes of simplicity, all Perfect Week Prize winners will be tracked, added and not paid until the conclusion of the season.

I agree with everything else about it that you said. This is an excellent idea you guys came up with and an even better reason to play every week than my consolation prizes are. We will, however, also continue to have consolation prizes.

Greetings!

The Week 8 Picks are as follows:

JW17:
Broncos +9.5 confidence
Jaguars +3.5
Jets +9.5
Bills +14
Packers +8

JW17... where did you get your lines?

The Broncos are underdogs by 10, not 9.5
The Jags are underdogs by 3, not 3.5
The Jets are underdogs by 7.5, not 9.5
The Packers are underdogs by 9.5, not 8

Those lines all moved after Mission posted. Probably he posted the current line when he made pics by mistake.

I don't want to play, though. I never wanted to play this year for the same reason that I automatically went with Default Picks. I don't want to play next year because I want to be able to look at the PM Picks to make sure that they are correct so I can let people know if they are not.

Nobody has bothered me via PM and everybody except for me wants me to play, but I do not want to play anymore. I want to forfeit, I want my $25 to go into the prize pool and I want my record for this season cancelled. As Commissioner, I approve of my own action and hereby authorize myself to forfeit.

If that is not acceptable, I hereby cancel and reject my Default Strategy and will simply not submit any Picks. This will cause me to automatically lose anyway.

You would have sucked this year anyways. That is a fact.

I should've been 5-1. I put over instead of under in the jags game. I spent all of Saturday from when I woke up to when I ended the day betting sports, and the last thing I did is the picks here. I had o41.5 on one half point card and u42.5 on another. Luckily they both hit. Because of that i got confused :(

Keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Fun fact: I think I am like 0-3 on Thursday night games on half points. Cheating ass books

About 4 years ago djatc thought:
The line was something you snorted.
The spread was what guys in LV put on their sandwich.
Hedging was something Mexicans did in your yard.
The dog was a bounty hunter from his home state.
The middle was the guy in the middle.
over/under was the other two guys not in the middle.

He is going to get this in his sleep. He should show off, get good sleep, then put picks in last minute.

Gun to my head, I'd have to say the Rams have to be the favorite, even as a road team against the saints. Was going to go with the current line, but couldn't. Rams are the best team in America.

DJ is in complete control of his own destiny. DJ doesn't make mistakes and will probably finish perfect from here on. DJ is so good, he can drink, do drugs and stay up over 24 hours, sleep just 5 minutes and get his picks in with 30 seconds to spare. DJ is the pick King, all but over.

This is more true than you realize. He probably spends less time on these picks, as such, than GWAE does.

Brah...you donated that $25 3 weeks ago to fund Keeneone's follow-on buy-in to Wiz's NFL picks...

I'd guess you have another $25 in your pocket to stake, but that escrow is spent.

I usually avoid over-under bets because the point total has so much volatility (unpredictable variance) in it. But DJATC has been playing those over-under lines like they are strings in a harp.

Here's a challenge: come up with a meaning for DJATC. Like:

Damn, Just A Tad Cursed

or

Is that true? I started another thread about it yesterday or the day before. My gut was that variance of total around over/under would be the same as variance around final score spread around the Vegas line.

PM me the link to your thread, I'd like to read it.

Stating the obvious:

1. Coaching strategies are unknowable and matter- playing fast or slow, amount of running plays, etc.
2. When it happens, OT blows up your analysis
3. The last 2-4 minutes of a game have crazy situational dynamics and swings.
4. Points scored during garbage time of a blowout (also substitutions in a blowout)
5. Possible range of Total Points is much larger than "Margin of Victory" and seemingly very large swings in Total Points can occur

1. Saints/Vikings game. Last play for the Saints I think they ran some stupid trick play with a backup QB and they got out of FG range which totally screwed up my over since the total was 50. They didn't need the FG as they were up by 10 or something so that sucked.

2. Week 1 Browns/Steelers game went into OT and I had the under with 2 points left to spare. As a FG or TD would win the game I thought I was screwed, but they tied which is a crazy way to win an under bet.

3, Can't remember specifics but I'm sure I've been screwed and saved by last minute drives

4. Browns/Steelers rematch totally screwed me over on the u50.5. Browns got a TD on their last play which was meaningless. Can't remember if I had it on the picks, but I had it on my half points.

5. What messes up the total is weird scoring amounts. Like a team that has a safety, or a missed extra point can change the dynamic of what the other team will do to catch up or create a lead. 2 pt conversions, failed or successful, make it weird too.

Does DJ have default picks set up in case he doesn't submit them? If not, I may bet against him and have him eliminated so that I win my $50.

PM Confidentiality Rule unless there is no other choice but to reveal that information. That's why, when someone has default picks and fails to submit his/her picks, I just put the picks in there as if they had been submitted.

The one thing that I will reveal is that DJATC intentionally skipped the week he missed, so even if he had default picks in place, it wouldn't have applied.
