and the game Ohtani won was not just a playoff game but one that put the Dodgers into the World Series
Wise's game was a meaningless game - he pitched for the Phillies in 1971 who finished in 6th place in the National League with a record of 67-95
he pitched his great game against the less than mediocre Cincinnati Reds who finished the year 79-83
Wise's team finished 30 games behind the first place Pittsburgh Pirates
you're a very smart guy who I respect a lot
but in this instance what you posted is the exact opposite of what is true
Rick Wise's game was not of the same class as Ohtani's game
and calling Ohtani's game only "good" is quite ridiculous indeed
oh, and worth repeating from the news article:
"Don’t even bother asking: Has any team’s starting pitcher ever mashed three home runs in one postseason game? That’s hilarious. Of course no pitcher has ever had a three-homer game in any postseason.

My post was mildly tongue in cheek. Ohtani’s game was with Dodgers already up 3-0 in the series. Had Ohtani struck out all 3 times instead of homering the Dodgers still win the game.
How about this. Ohtani had the best game in MLB postseason history. Rick Wise had the best game in MLB regular season history.
Ohtani is a true unicorn. In all this hoopla, we forget that he’s one of the best base stealers in MLB when unleashed.

As great a player as Bird was, he was a better trash talker. Years ago, someone had a parabolic mike on him for a game and it was amazing.
Larry Bird told Bill Walton and others on the Trail Blazers -
"tomorrow's the last game of the trip - I'm going to play it all left handed"
and the end of 3 quarters he had 27 - all left handed___________(-:/

yes, Dominique Wilkins got him once too - fun to watch these - very rare to see see him used up like that - almost never got beat when he was on offense - I don't ever recall seeing him getting his shot blocked

That said, I agree with SOOPOO. I doubt I will ever again see a single player both throw for 2 TD's and run for 2 TD's in the 4th quarter of an NFL game.
FYI, my fantasy opponent had Nix (as well as Josh Jacobs). According to Yahoo, at 6:00, I had a 96% chance of winning. I ended up getting blown out!
