The story is from 2002 but it's so interesting I decided to post it. How did he do it? His handle was huge and he was betting offshore books that give generous rebates. He lost 4% on his bets but the books rebated him 12% (much more than average because of his heavy action) which means he profited by about 8%.
A person could look at this story and say I don't believe it but it's written by Barry Meadow who is one of racing's greatest writers. I believe it.
