Spicer Cub and jockey's excellent adventure. Looks like spooked at a bush and then a shadow. The front on view down the lane was scary. How did they miss the starting gate?

Wish they had the Trackus system so we would know how much further Spicer Cub traveled in that race than the winner.

That was crazy. Spicer Cub was in a whole different class than those other horses and could have won by 10 lengths had he stayed straight and the jockey pushed him the whole time.

He actually went between the starting gate and the outside fence..... stop the video at the 5 13 mark and you can see him making his left hand turn back down towards the other rail

yeah, the head on shot shows it......maybe a 5 yard gap? Jockey when directly to bathroom or bar after dismounting.

At least those other horses knew to go to the rail to run the shortest course.

looks like the horse was wearing "full cup blinkers".......running on the outside of the track is very close to running on the hard pan.........that's why the horse was able to close

I still keep watching the replay. If he would have won, it may have been my favorite horse race of all time. I was in Hot Springs watching the Arkansas Derby when the race and this thread was up. It was a good time down there.
