This would be more interesting if it were a BJ or poker tournament. However there is skill with these slots.

Even if there weren't, you could just slow down. It is a 2 day event.

Here are the payouts.

1: 10,000
2: 1000
3: 300
4 - 20: 100
21 - 30: 1,000
31-100: 50

So how do you approach this?

1) in a skill tourney, like BJ or poker.

2) my actual situation. On day 1 I figured out that you can get significantly more spins in with proper technique. Didn't see anyone else doing it. It's not rocket science, so I'm sure a few others will get it.

Point being, I can gun for a good score with some effectiveness, or shoot for a 1k payout.

Edit: After day one, I am close to the top score.

Much more info needed!
How many entrants?
Do you know your rank on a second by second basis?
Are these regular -EV slots?

I can only estimate the entrants based on the crowds. I'd say about 500-700.

You do not know your rank, but you do know your score. I know the top score near the end of day one is 65,000. I'm in 3rd with about 63k. So I know 60k is a very good score.

Hard to say what the EV would be. But they are pretty normal slots, except one feature allows you to play faster.
