My latest game analysis is Treasure Tomb. The object is to cross a hallway full of booby-trapped tiles or die trying. I invite you play it yourself. It is fun experiencing the various ways of dying. I still have never made it to the altar. If you do, let me know what happens.

Let me beat Miplet into posting the compliance report on the game.

Please click on the first link in this post and let me know what you think of my explanation and analysis. As always, I welcome questions, comments, and especially corrections.

The question for the poll is would you play Treasure Tomb?

As many times as I got killed, I might not play it.

I started just walking in a straight line, got to the last square finally and had boulders dropped on me.

I actually like the concept, however they need to spruce it up a bit, that's some 1980's graphics, it should be 3D and there should be different rooms and mystery tiles along the way, instead of a 10% bonus there should be a bonus round when you reach the end.

Made it to the last row [after many failures], not very exciting, maybe the demo is missing what would happen with the game?

first page that comes up:

after hitting 'collect' [not 'continue']

I did not try to 'get back across room'! Correct strategy?

I never doubt the Wizard of course, in this case that the colors don't matter, but made it across choosing the lowest paying, seemingly safer tiles. Not in terms of EV, I assume, but in terms of 'chances of making it', it seems to matter. No?

Congratulations on making it to the other side. I think the game specs said if you turned around, and make it back, you got another 10%.

The EV is the same, collecting or turning around. However, in the interests of minimizing variance, I'd collect. If you choose a 2x tile each time, the odds of 14 successful picks would be 1 in 34,653. That is on the order of hitting a royal in video poker.

I actually made it across on my 2nd try (collected) and then again 3 tries later (turned around, but got bolderized on the way back)!

I might put a $10 bill in this if I saw it in a casino. I would like to see either fewer steps, or more lower multipliers to get a better win rate.
