To anyone who bet HC because of me, I apologize. Hopefully there wen't many. I don't know of a single one for sure.

I actually put out a lot of offers with me taking Clinton
no bites :-)
A close friend not on this board that is a big Trump supporter and gambles a lot is really regretting not taking me up on a bet

Yes, thanks, that's true. I'm going to lose waaaaaaaaay more in the market than my bets.

Stick a fork in it -- the night is over. Congratulations Donald. Pass the crow and the humble pie.

Your stock market predicting is just as good as your presidential predicting! The market seems up around 1% today. There is no way you could differentiate the stock market today from any other day of the year.

Hopefully gold goes up, have a bit of an investment in that

Yes, that was pretty much my position. I thought HC was the better bet and personally lost about $7,000 on her. In fact, here are is a screenshot of my bets at 5 dimes:

I bet almost every dollar of the $9,500 in my account. Of that, I lost $5085. I also lost about $2,000 to friends. If it is of any consolation to myself, I've bet much more in past elections and am still way up on election betting. I've bet them all, big, since Clinton/Dole in 96. One thing that held me back from betting huge this election is what I've said many times -- Since the first televised debates, of Nixon/Kennedy in 1960, the more charismatic candidate has won every time. I thought that trend would end this time. It didn't.

One consolation is that S&P futures are not down as much as when I went to bed. While I slept, I made more there than I lost on the election.

To anyone who bet HC because of me, I apologize. Hopefully there wen't many. I don't know of a single one for sure.

Now, let me get back to licking my wounds.

Don't sweat it Wizard, if there was money lost by Pant Suit Nation, it wasn't because of you.

I am genuinely shocked at outcome and the margin of victory. It was almost the exact opposite of what I thought it was going to be.

I am going to have to change my signature line on DT:

"SUPREME CHANCELLOR of the 2012 ELECTORAL COLLEGE WoV prediction contest"

I think I will change it to: "Trumped in 2016"

Gee, it's so much fun watching all the polling experts on TV explaining how they really didn't miss with the predictions LOL
To be honest I did not think Trump had a chance. Well until Sunday and Monday Drove from Western Colorado to Canyon City, then thru Cripple Creed on the way back. Stopped counting Trump sighs after 40 or 50. All thru rural Colorado, never saw 1 Hillary sign, probably 200 Trump signs on the 500 mile trip.
If they close all the prisons in Canyon City, it will be a ghost town. Grandson serving 4-8, talk about a great plea bargain. High on meth, 12 gauge shot gun on his lap, paranoid, 2 girls in back of car, hit spikes at 105MPH, bounced back and forth between guard rails. Tried to exit vehicle, door was jammed, used shotgun to open. Cops returned fire, missed, caught up and knocked him to the ground, beat the shit out of him and off to Jail. Served 5 year so far, now 26, may get out in February,
2 years ago went to Denver, his sister on drugs, living on streets, turning tricks. Took me a year to get her charges, no shows, etc cleared up, then this spring she got a job the Democrats say no American will do, Picking Peaches. 100-104 degrees, worked at roadside stand after harvest, now working in hot house for same orchard.
Will try and rescue DJ, get him into auto mechanic school, fixing cars instead of stealing them. OOOPS. not trying to steal thread. But I mean, not one Hillary sign in 500 miles. Who were these experts polling ? ? ?

I'm putting on my tinfoil hat for this...

With polls so solidly in favor of Clinton, but the outcome so different, perhaps the Russian election fixing hackers actually accomplished their objective. Change the count in Wisconsin and swing some votes in Pennsylvania and Michigan...

Putin was one of the first to offer congratulations.

Okay. Taking off the tinfoil hat.

And she won Colorado. I can't recall seeing a single Hillary sign, either - only Trump and Johnson.

Local LV Fox 5 news just had a story about a crazy man who never bet anything before who made a bunch of bets on Trump leading up to the election and he made 124k.

I just bet a maximum allowed $195 to win $50 on Roy Moore. I'll probably come back later and pop it again. I'm surprised the polls say it is even close, given that we're talking about Alabama here.

New Fox News poll has Jones up 10 points. Article explains possible discrepancy between other polls, but should be a close race.

I've said all along that I think Moore will win (it's Alabama).

I'd be happy to be proven wrong this time, though!

Here's a wildcard nobody seems to have brought up yet; if the result is close, are there enough Republicans in the Senate who don't want Moore in that they will support a Democratic call for as many recounts as it takes to get Jones elected, the way the House did with Frank McCloskey in 1984?

Thank goodness I didn't go back and bet more. I think it is worth $195 to have at least some of my faith in humanity restored.
