Is it just me or are casinos way more scary on the action these days.

Title was meant to say sweaty on the action but, it seems no matter where you go everyone is getting tired of guys looking for a quick buck. Can't seem to get action anywhere these days. What happened?

There appear to be endless backoff videos for Black Jack on YouTube these days. But they are invariably card counters so what did they expect?

I've got to learn not to pocket chips while I'm at the table before I color-up.

I've found it to be the opposite. No heat and apparently no surveillance, and apparently the only countermeasure is making the games suck.

Shut down a BJ pit, lay off a bunch of employees and put some bubble craps and slots there.

Sucks they decided to just get of tables to get rid of counters, while this is a controversial opinion I feel like the house could offer good rules like resplit aces and stand 17 on continuous shufflers it both eliminates the edge of counting and the gamblers whom don't like continuous shufflers might still play due to the genourous rules otherwise.

No that decision has nothing to do with counters. Labor. Everybody's afraid of labor because of the quality of workers you get off the street these days so they all want to be slot parlors now.

In the largest markets of Vegas and AC living there is unaffordable for people with entry-level jobs unless they are willing to live in Third World conditions, so that's what they get, bunch of no-speakas who can't shuffle (hence all the ASM and CSM), can't make change, can't deal the cards, can't remember the rules, really can't do anything but sue you when you fire them, but it's pointless to fire them because you're going to get the same thing replacing them. Gone are the days when some nice kid from the Midwest who wants a change could pack a duffel and pound the 'Hound into Vegas, get a cheap apartment Downtown and next week he's a dealer, bellman, cook, whatever else until he decides what he wants to be if he grows up.

So from the perspective of the big casino executives, it's best to say "Screw it," put in all stuff that doesn't require labor besides one or two completely unskilled people, tell everybody "Hey we tried. Must be the economy." and try to do their time and retire. The problem isn't so bad in the Indian stores and other rural setups where there are already plenty of locals who would appreciate the jobs a casino brings to them, and that's where you will find better games too.
