Does anyone use the Place AND Come Bet betting system? For example,, say the 4 was established on the come-out roll and I placed $6 on the 6 & 8 and $5 on the Come. 2nd roll was a 8 and the come bet went to the 8. What do I say when I want to take down the place bet on the 8 and place $10 odds the on the 8 for that come bet? Do I just say "down with odds" and toss the dealer another nickel and he'll give me back that $1 change? Am I using the right terminology or is this method of betting irritating to the dealers? Once I win the come bet with odds I place another place bet on the 8 if I didn't have another come bet that went to the 8 and start the cycle again. I usually have the 2 place bets on the 6 & 8 and at most 2 come bets with double odds. I increase the wagers if the table get hot too.

Reason I ask is that I did this the other night at a Vegas casino and the dealer didn't understand what I wanted and seemed confused. Maybe it was too loud or maybe my lingo is off. Any insight please.

I never worry about lingo, only about giving good, clear instructions that cannot be misinterpreted. So here's the instructions I'd give: "Place bet on the 8 comes down, 10 dollars odds on the come bet, please." Even a rookie dealer will know exactly what you want done. But, as always, watch to make sure they do what you ask.

If you have a place bet and the come bet point is established on that number, they will move your come bet there immediately and then pay the place bets in the normal order. When they get to your place bet, they will ask you how much you want in your odds bet. If it is a 6 or 8 for $6, you'll have a total of $13 for them to either hand you (no odds), or to use as odds (just say $10 odds, they will give you $3 change, for example). If you want $25 odds, just put $12 more down to complete the bet. Once the come bet wins, just place that number again if you wish.

The best thing to do is remember that they are handling the bets in a specific order and it is best to only tell them what you want when they are working on your bet. All that shouting people do when the dealer isn't to their bet yet can lead to confusion. Be ready when they get to you and know what you want so they can keep moving.

Good luck!!

the lingo
hot

what do you mean by hot?
and IF

what is your trigger?
is it always the same trigger?

you increase the wagers exactly after what event?

come bets
I think
get HOT differently than place bets.

of course, I do not make those bets except for fun
but you do to win and lose real money

You don't throw anything in (why would you?). When it's time for the dealer to pay you, say, "Down with 10 odds." The dealer will/should cut out your $7 in profit, bring your $6 bet into the come area, hand you the $3 in change/profit, and stack the remaining $10 on top of the $5 come (flat) bet.

"Down with odds" is correct. There's no need to throw the dealer another nickel because the dealer will take down your place bet plus the win and use it to take the most odds possible which in your case will be your desired $10 odds bet with $3 change.

If you want a different amount for odds then just announce the amount. For example "Down with $5 odds" You'll get $8 change. If you want more odds than the "downed" amount can provide (and more odds are allowed) then announce the amount and throw in enough to cover the shortfall.

The most sure-fire way to place bets is to tell the dealer what you want to bet and how much. In your situation, I would have considered taking the place bet down to be implicit and simply said "10 odds". After it hits... "place it for 6"... the "it" would be the number that just hit that you won. If this becomes a regular thing for you, your only issue will be the first time with a new dealer. As long as you use a logical system (keep it consistent) it's their job to understand what you want.
Its - Possessive; It's - "It is" / "It has"; There - Location; Their - Possessive; They're - "They are"

Well, the 100% no questions method is to tell the dealer "down with $(amount) odds..." this way there's no ambiguity and the dealer can set you up, hand off your change then go to the next task...
