Higher limit blackjack tables have more favourable rules, why not the same with higher limit craps?

For example on a $100 min table you could make betting in $100 units, a $120 6 or 8 could pay $145 instead of $140. $100 5 or 9 could pay $145 instead of $140. Could have 4% commission on the 4 or 10 buys. Hard ways and crap action could pay more.

Could it work?

One of the super attractions of playing craps it is that for all intents and purposes it is a democratic game. With immutable odds, as well as consistent state and house rules. Not many other wagering propositions offer that.

So if you were a large player you'd be more attracted to a game that had a higher house edge to every player than to one that pays you more because you are betting more? Very noble of you but I'm not sure that is part of the attraction. At least not for the majority. Whether this idea would work in practice who knows but I'm fairly sure any failure would have very little if anything to do with the reason you stated. Everyone likes an extra buck, I doubt high limit craps players are any different.

A bought $100 5 or 9 already pays $145, commission on win, in certain markets.

Craps players who play at the highest betting levels get preferential treatment.

Not just comps.

Not just "show up money."

Hello, percentage rebate of losses.

But the rules of the game don't change, just the way the players are handled.

Could it work?

of course it could work
if they also have to make a hardway bet too

i say this because $120 pays $144 as a true odds bet ($100 pays $120 + $20 pays $24)

so a player without being forced to make a hardway bet now has the edge
looks to B 1/264

most $100 players i see, and yes i do not see them all,
making place bets do not make $120 place 6 bets, $150 be more common as 6 pays 7
(i think because $300 covers both the 6&8)

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner.

Changing minor rules in BJ, such as DAS, or S17, are minor to the dealer's job. Changing payouts is major and introduces the opportunity for error.

Never gonna happen.

Note: introducing 6:5 BJ was somewhat easy, because any dealer that deals craps already knows how to pay it.
