So the new Palacasino online in NJ has a craps game. I was betting 10 don't with 20 odds. Then after the point established 10 DC with 20 odds. I realized that if the point was made the casino on the come out roll would make all odds OFF (come or DC).

How does this impact the odds overall of the bets? I couldn't see the house advantage other then you cant win multiple DC bets at once on come out. Is there another disadvantage we are dealing with I am not seeing? If so, how much?

Okay, let me make sure I understand this:

You're simply saying that DC + DC Odds are automatically off on the CO. Since you are no more likely to have a seven (or point number) on CO then any other time, this should make no difference.

Because taking / laying odds is zero HE, there is no advantage to the casino in turning them off for the comeout roll.

I believe the standards of certain bets being "off" for comeout is related to traditions and to the betting patterns that "most" players use. Mostly related to what would be the effect of a seven being rolled. Because pass line wins on a 7, any 'optional' bet that loses on a 7 would cause a mixed-result which would annoy many players.

The DC does not follow that pattern though. I'm not sure what the traditional pattern is for DC odds for the comeout.

You should definitely make sure they apply this pattern consistently though. Ie if they don't pay your odds for a 7 (win) then also make sure they don't take away your odds on a loss (comeout roll of your DC's point).

You also should have the option of requesting certain bets be "turned on" during the comeout.

Surely the DC itself is never off, in the box or having traveled.

The EV of the bet does not change, but your overall HE on the combined bet - over time, not just at that instant - is not as good when odds are ever off I believe. I think this is related to why the Wizard recommends keeping them on at all times, playing either side.

The only bubble Craps type I have ever played [I forget proper name] kept turning the odds off on the DC, so I'm not surprised some online game does too. A real Craps table is going to keep the DC odds working at all times. This other is a pain. I have to say it really interfered with my ability to enjoy the game, playing either side, to have the odds constantly turned off [on the CO but not to come back on again without clicking on it either IIRC].

In all the casinos I've been in Don't-like bets (Don't Come, DC Odds or Lay) always work.

The DC and COME bets (the 'working' parts) are the only parts that truly have an advantage/disadvantage. The odds has no advantage (neither negative nor positive). Turning them off, on, betting $10,000 or $10, changes absolutely nothing when it comes to expectation (ie: how much you expect to win/lose).

Pala Casino is in SoCal
i do not like it
too many low lifes and gang members hang out there looking for a score

i do like the stage (live music) above the bar
that is cool

what exactly are you trying to say here?

Turning them off, on, betting $10,000 or $10, changes absolutely nothing when it comes to expectation (ie: how much you expect to win/lose).

Oh
YOU say expectation = how much you expect to win/lose

I say that is 100% FALSE if you mean how much = real $$$$$$$$$

what you say now!

=======================
RS says
"ie: how much you expect to win/lose"
so $0

NOT SO
i say
that is an average over what infinite time
===========================
my proof (no opinion)
===========================
i bet on a fair coin flip
$1 on a win I win and lost the $1 on a loss
HE = 0 and EV = 0

chance to lose exactly $0
simple math kids
10 flips: 24.6094% (252/1024)

100 flips: 7.9589%
(100,891,344,545,564,193,334,812,497,256 / 1,267,650,600,228,229,401,496,703,205,376)
or

500 flips: 3.5665%
1,000 flips: 2.5225%
10,000 flips: 0.7979%

looks to me
no expert here
the chance to lose exactly $0 gets smaller with more trials

that means
in other words
the chance to
WIN or LOSE SOMETHING INCREASES
as the number of trials increases

exactly not what RS said(says)

I'm not the most superstitious person in the world but it sure feels like they turn the magnet on when you play the e-craps. They roll 7's on the come out, and of course your odds are off so you only win your flat bet, but you loose your don't pass so you really don't win much. E-craps sucks!
