are you a craps expert?

That's what many people tell me. But I have no idea. The only clue I have is that other people refer to me as such.

I won cash in a stunt competition for riding 250 feet on the front tire from 90mph to a stop. A professional stunt rider (that I beat) shook my hand and said, "you got paid, now you're pro."

I never considered myself a professional stunt rider either. Mainly because, like playing craps, any money I won from doing that activity is not sufficient to make it worthwhile to give up my true profession which is creating games.

But I had one pro stunt rider tell me that I was a pro.

Similarly, I have had more than one person tell me that I am a craps expert.

I have also refused to be called a professional craps player stating that I don't know of any at all that I am certain of.

I try very hard to be up front about this sort of stuff.

I know where your bankroll came from and so do you.

yes, but you have not seen my results from my many Lay bets against a shooter's point
It is higher than I thought

A few of my friends were telling me I always win when I play that way,
they are close to the truth

There must be something to placing a verbal challenge to a male shooter right after they establish their first point
of course, when I play card craps, there really is no shooter, but there I have +EV on many many bets

I think you should try to ask the shooter if they are going to 7out before they hit their point
that way their answer to your question tells you how to bet on them

try it
winning more $$$.$$ is fun
it really is

Ask yourself, how many people actually know much about the game?????dicesetter

and I answered, only 3
much is such a difficult word to deal with, imo

I also know 3 that do not know anything about the game of craps, except that the game uses dice

make that 2 now
I just told one how to play craps, and now she is almost an expert at craps

needs to play first, imo

card craps at San Man tomorrow at noon
be there
have fun

When Derrick called me a craps expert on high roller radio, Sally, what should he have referred to me as for the purpose of that show in your opinion?

I think a person that has played the game of craps

as you do not consider yourself a craps expert and you are not on any lists of craps experts

But you should ask HIM why he called you a craps expert
it is that simple

it might get you on my list :)

But he is trying to create an interesting show.
I did not see him calling me an expert leading to a thread like this as an effort for you to publicly humiliate me or to attempt to at least.
But I think I'm not the only one who feels that's exactly the point here for you.

I think I started the world's first craps expert list and a discussion about what it means to be a craps expert

you may take or feel that as you wish
I still love you for who you are

and not for who you do not think you are

You should add Archie Karas to the list.

I thought about him twice

Who else has almost brought down a casino due to their craps play?

well, Grandma Pat in 2009 with her 154 roll hand.
her friends, the male one, stopped her from betting the numbers as I read.
typical. superstitions again
the other players at the same table as Pat should have taken the casino for millions, imo
that, to me, speaks volumes

Alas, these days he's but a poor shadow of his former self, but back in the day he was quite formidable.

I hear he does well these days.
and CA Indian casinos can sue any player for any reason they want.

It is their right, imo

In short if we applied your definition of expert to many areas of life, we would have none.Dicesetter

We currently have NO expert dice influencers, do we?

At least Karas demonstrated his knowledge of the game by winning many millions from Binions during an epic run; what have your other "experts" accomplished?

Those who can, do; those who can't, write about it.

Are you a craps expert, mustangsally?

no

I know a lot about the game including how a bet can win and lose
I know how and when to make many of the bets available too

I also know how and why the game is dealt a certain way

but I could not deal the game in a casino and many craps experts may not either, to the casinos satisfaction that is

so does just being a craps dealer qualify as a craps expert?

is knowing a lot about something the same as being an expert about that something?

that is still open for discussion

even Ahigh does not want to call himself a craps expert, but allows others to call him a craps expert
he refuses to answer that question with a simple yes or no

I correct those that try to call me a craps expert because I win playing craps
I also win making sports bets too
a nice one last night
I am not a sports betting expert

Just because.......

You wear a cowboy hat, that doesn't make you a cowboy.

You have a pen and paper, that doesn't make you a writer.

You have a box of crayons, that doesn't make you an artist.

You play craps, that doesn't make you a craps expert.

I agree
because I have seen many play craps and admit while playing they have no clue why they are winning or losing their bets while being sober,

but it is a start to being an expert, imo

more questions:
is it possible to be a "craps expert' and have never played the game?

in your opinion, what makes one a "craps expert"?

are you a craps expert?

(Expert) A person who has special skill or knowledge in some particular field.

By definition all on your list would qualify.

Of course it is possible to be an expert on craps without ever
playing the game. It is very possible to be an expert on
attempts at dice control without ever doing it in a casino.

Knowledge is the key..it is the key to everything.

In addition your range of expertise could be very broad or very limited, for
instance you could be an expert at the lay bet, while doing nothing else, you could
be an expert in table conditions and on and on.

Does the accountant that testifies in court as to the value of restaurant have to be a cook,
or when I testify in court as to the value of a shopping center, do I have to own one???

Sometimes I think these people that demand perfection for all others whether it is does control
or anything else having to do with craps is that the thought that some one else would do better
or know more than they do is more than they can handle, so knowing they will never take the
time to get good, demand an impossible level of achievement from others so they still feel equal.

There can be no dice control experts until dice control is proven to actually exist and be quantifiable and replicable.

Expertise requires both knowledge and experience; how can one develop experience in controlling the dice when it has never been proven possible to accomplish?

What "knowledge" would a dice control expert have to have, and how can it be proven to in fact be knowledge and not just misguided hope, belief and affectation?

The subject is akin to religion: belief without proof, hope without foundation.

That's a cop out and a dodge.

To me, you've waved the white flag.

Move on, nothing more to see here.
