Is the true count and running count considered the same thing in a single deck game?

Nope. You divide by the number of decks left just as you do normally. So if running count is 2 and there is 1/2 the deck left then true count is 1 / 1/2 = 4

For the sake of keeping things a little easier I've just been practicing the running count. How much do you gain or lose by using or not using the true count?
