i have created a side bet for blackjack, and i am curious if anyone can figure out the dealers advantage? (if any advantage lol)

i call it the three round bet. imagine three card sized places to set three cards in a row. if a bet is placed "here" the dealer will discard the top card face down to the first position and continue a round or blackjack. the dealer will then do it again, and again until a card is discarded into each of the three postions. in other words it takes three hands of blackjack rounds to complete the bet.

the rules,

if one of the three cards is a spade, the bet pays 1 to 1.

if all three cards are spades, the bet pays 2 to 1.

if all three are aces, the bet pays 14 to 1.

if all three are faces(minus the pip tens) the bet pays 9 to 1.

if all three cards total 21, the bet pays 2 to 1.

if two are spades, or no spades, the bet is lost.

the idea was that for every card discarded into the bet was an advantage for the dealer as now the deck isnt complete, creating better and better odds during the normal rounds of blackjack. and that i had read somewhere that if three cards where drawn that the odds where that 24% chance that ONLY one would be a spade(what the bet is truely based on). my idea was that no matter what the three cards would be that the dealers advantage would be slightly better each new hand after a card was discarded into the positions.

can anyone see this as a "good bet" for the house/and i would be greatful if someone could work the odds on it. im interested in the dealers advantage.

thank you!

So I presume this sidebet can be played only once per shoe of cards. Otherwise the player can count spades. It might be better if you drew four cards. The first one would determine the magic suit, and the next one would be the first of the triple. Then you could play more than once per shoe.

In general, I doubt that a casino would like a side bet that you can join in once per shoe.

very good a valid point. i had created it only considering playing single deck however.

i like your 'four card idea" the card that "makes the magic suit" is already a dealers edge itself as now there are less "of that magic suit!" XD

I would stop you right here. IMHO, multiple hand bets in BJ would not work. Too much room for a dealer to watch. The reason the fire bet works is when it dies almost all other bets also clear, exception being donts. No casino will want players potentially sitting two hands dead to await the side bet outcome.

Apoligies if this was just a math exercise.

no worries, this is just for my own use, not to be submitted to any casino as an idea.

i personally like the fact that they have to sit around and wait for the outcome of the side bet, lol forces them to stick around for atleast two more bets! XD

this would be a table comunity bet to btw, in the general area of say the insurance bet ect. and any one who places the bet on it wins or loses the same as everyone else.
