Have just had conversation with someone who think casino's are not interested on SD games, Those that might prefer
SD want the 6-5 tables they have.

Person is a major force in industry but quite a bit younger than me. Doubt he remembers when almost all games were SD.
He is not from USA so I am sure he never read Motley Fool's rant against 6-5 BJ

I prefer SD, preferably with good rules like DAS, but you can never find them. Casinos don't like them because they are slow, hard to deal, and vulnerable to counters. Hold is probably less for those reasons, and the slightly lower house edge.

I can count the places I've seen REAL SD BJ on one hand: Sam's Town, Gold Strike, and Harrah's in Tunica, and El Cortez and Tuscany is Las Vegas.

My game has liberal rules not seen in decades and welcomes advantage players to try. Not even " George " can beat my game.

Single Deck is, and probably will always be an important draw, 6:5 BJ's not withstanding.
Double-deck pitch at 3:2 is also important, my fave for BJ.
We have a number of SD games at Fiesta.
Smart Casino operators consider it a must have.

An an ex dealer I found SD interesting to deal and most other dealers felt the same. My game is 20-30 faster than average SD.
With a built in 2 deck shuffler like at poker tables speed would be even faster. Especially 2 color decks. Shufflers not only shuffle but also count the cards in poker. So cheaters would have a hard time winning with a held-out card.

We're using single deck shufflers on SD games.
Just cut the deck and go, - it is faster.
I prefer dealing pitch games to shoes, but I prefer Pai Gow and craps (the players' behavior allowing on dice, though...)

I feel same way about dealing pitch. Be great to flirt and tease ladies on a pending jackpot hand. They squeal when you toun over a down DD card and 21 beats dealer 20. Imagine if turning a card over even at $5 table for $500 or a second card for
$10,000. Hell might even drown out the craps table.
