Hi,

Interesting concept for UK Blackjack players in so far as a: Its a decent tournament with a decent first prize guaranteed! (we don't get BJ tournies very often in UK, certainly not this big) and b: new format for a BJ tournie, rather than the usual x number of hands, it plays more like a poker tournie (still vs dealer) but players get Ante's taken which I guess means the stacks will naturally decrease even if playing optimal strategy.

They reckon on between 100 and 200 entries, so that £25k 1st Place Guarantee could be much higher.

Interested to know the thoughts of BJ players, especially those in UK / Europe, fancy making the trip?

Gaz

What is more interesting is their liberal Blackjack rules claiming a house edge of 0.26%. (I haven't been there; these details have been copied from their website http://www.thecasinonottingham.co.uk/blackjack/ ).
Quote:

Here at DTD we offer options that no other UK Casino does.

Surrender is available against all dealer hands except Blackjack. This option limits the players loss to 50% of his original wager if he is dealt a poor hand.

Plus all doubles and splits are refunded against a dealer Blackjack. For example, if a player splits Aces four times and then the dealer goes on to make Blackjack, the player will only lose one bet! Not all four as in other casinos.

These enhanced rules lower our house edge to 0.26% which is the lowest house edge in the UK.

fwiw nice idea for roulette --

Our Roulette has a special feature that reduces the house edge and adds extra excitement to the game.
Here’s how:

Whenever a Zero is spun we give players at the table the chance to receive a refund on all losing bets.

One player at the table will be able to throw a standard six sided dice and if a six is the outcome then all losing bets on that spin will be refunded.

Yes, some nice player friendly game enhancements right there..... Bet it gets quite lively round the roulette layout when a player is about to roll the dice!
