So I know we have discussed the variety of E-table games on the market for casinos that are permitted "slots" but not table games. I was at the local Racino over the weekend, and they were installing a new set of tables in their pit, and this goes above and beyond the Digidealer blackjack game they already have.

I asked about it, and they said it was called Organic Blackjack by Electronek. It uses real cards and the machine automatically shuffles the decks and deals out the cards...but the cards are contained inside of a plastic "bubble".

The players place bets on their electronic screen, similar to the current Digidealer game. I haven't seen anything quite like this before, but I assume a lot of players are suspicious of the electronic 'cards', so maybe this will be a hit.

How it still fits in the "slot" definintion, I have no idea. Check out this Youtube video of the machine. Maybe this will be the future of gambling (at least lower limit).

Sounds like a lot of moving parts, $10 on it breaking once a week who's got the over or under?

Yeah that's exactly what I thought as well. Cards getting jammed up and stalling the game would really piss players off. Guess we'll find out. I'll probably play it sometime in the next month or so and let you know.

I don't know about that.

How often do automatic shufflers jam up?

Not too often.

How much less frequent would it be if the cards never got handled or bent?
