had an epic run.....ultimately got took for $500 after just feeling the need to tap out.

the pluses - i did not see one CSM in the house & $5 6D/S17 games were alive & well. deck pen. seemed slightly better for some reason (usually a painful 2/3)...might have just been in my head.

the minuses - variance & volatility. the other players were particularly awful as well...& it made no difference whether you were @ a $5 table or a $25 table. the pit (where it's NMSE) had $100 minimums. the food options late at night are pretty atrocious as well.

lessons learned - bring friends & alienate the table, or bring a really big bankroll & go to the pit. also, get food at the pricey sit-down places, pepe's pizza, or the buffet...everywhere else is greasy garbage.

gonna hit foxwoods next. i heard they do not offer affordable S17 games anymore :-/

Foxwoods is a monument to the fact that casinos often do not feel the need to compete with better games.
the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: “Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell!”   She is, after all, stone deaf. ... Arnold Snyder

Decent penetration can be found at Mohegan Sun if you have the time and are willing to look for it. The $5 tables are open every day in the Casino of the Earth. The minimums are raised at the 1 PM shift change with players already seated grandfathered at $5. There is a pit of $5 tables in the Casino of the Sky that never have the minimums increased but they are H17. These are the ones formerly outfitted with CSM's.

The only S17 games at Foxwoods are in the high limit Newport Room and they are six deck. Minimums are $100 with $50 possible during slower hours. The MGM high limit room is six deck but is H17. Everything else is eight deck H17.

Table game executives here understand that more hands dealt translates into more profit. For this reason dealers are mandated to cut no more than one deck off all blackjack games and many cut even less. Some are outfitted with ASMs making them very playable.

All of my back offs at Foxwoods except for one have been in the Newport Room. It is very closely watched.

fun. if i get there any time soon i will not have a bankroll that would warrant any kind of counting efforts. if i don't lose it all right away i won't spread more than 1-2. if i get backed off for that, then god bless 'em...i know they're pretty hurt for money so nothing would surprise me.
