Quote: Romes$1028 triggered a jackpot? Did they try to take taxes for that or just want to hand pay you for tips?
Meadows does the same thing.
Quote: djatcGot a $250 handpay for 4 deuces at a casino once. I would wager the combined net worth of all the customers in there were less then $250.
One of the casinos that I was consulting with during opening was going to set their handpay amounts at $500. When I questioned management they said that is what the floor attendants recommended. I shook my head in disbelief and we compromised at $1000. That particular casino doesn't issue W-2G's.

Some places are smaller and like this. As a matter of fact on some machines in this property 100 dollars will trigger a jackpot. This is how they try to compensate hourly pay with tips I suppose. You can play the 10/7 and hit 800 dollar aces on dollars without a lockup but most of the older machines will lock up at 100, 160, 200, 250, 500 and so forth. Just the way it is. You can either not toke or you can get friendly and toke and take advantage of some of the perks that goes along when you get to be a regular. You could be a total stiff and become a regular and still get the perks but why would you want all that hate. Better to be loved than hated. Recently a lot of hustlers in town are no mailed or 86'd from many properties because they don't want to play nice. I understand playing hard ball with the staff if they want to play hard ball but I find it better to not be barred from any property.
I used to get upset about the 500 dollar hand pay and an old friend of mine years ago told me that if you want to play a full pay game that nobody else spreads anymore than you have to give up that 5 dollar bill when you lock up your machine. That's the price you pay for playing over there and after many years now I agree. It takes about 1 dollar off an hour so instead of 20 dollar avg I get 19 when I play over there.

Shouldn't be taxes. I thought a good amount of progressive machines (especially on older systems) were hand paid regardless of the amount. I wouldn't know from experience though. :(
Quote: RomesSo where's the royal?? ;-)
Ok ok ok, here... :-)
Quote: GWAETring, I know the feeling recently. I just hit my 2nd royal cycle today without a royal. It makes me sad. Maybe I should play $5 now since I am due.
I am passed 2 royal cycles since my last one :(
Almost forgotten what it feels like.

I had 5 within 3 cycles so technically I am right on, but past events don't count.;-)

Haha I actually had 3 royals before this bad run in less than a full cycle so I shouldn't be complaining, it has just been a long time since the last one.
Edit: Also I can't complain cause I mostly play on quarters but of those three royals in the short period one was on dollars and one was .50

Yeah, that's opposite of my story. Bigger denoms do matter. I've been in casinos since 2001, but I've taken breaks, especially before 2011.
Feb. 2011...1 penny royal on ten lines at Blue Chip in IN ($40)
Feb. 2012...dealt penny royal on 6 lines ($240) at Flamingo...First Vegas Royal...still lost for trip.
Sep. 2012...royal at 2c level ($80) at Tunica Roadhouse.
Aug. 2015...5600 credit royal ($56) at Linq.
Sep. 2015...8000 dime royal (Gold Strike Tunica)...$800...biggest hit ever...finally
Mar. 2016...1 nickel royal on 5 lines at River City ($200)...first MO royal in 15 years of gambling!
Hoping my next big hit is a handpay!

I couldn't play that small for fear of hitting a royal for so little. I would lose my mind if I hit a royal betting pennies or nickels.
Odds are high but like dancer and others have said. Most hands that you are dealt are one in hundreds of thousands to one - looking in reverse

Yeah, obviously I'm talking about it happening before it actually does. I'll gladly take royals over deuces :-)
Here's another odd fact about the one tonight. It was my fourth "three to a royal" in a row. The cash out about was $1014.25. Not 2 minutes earlier on the last bet, got a four of a kind followed by a wild royal on the next hand then started losing again until this royal. Had I not gotten the quads, I was about to go and eat.
Quote: WizardofnothingIbya. It's gotta be mind numbing to play 25 cent denom single line- how do you not go crazy
It's not about the money.
Quote: WizardofnothingI meant more the single line is so mind numbing I can't even play for and hour
I'm not playing their crummy games. Either the NSUD pictured or 9/6 JoB. Everything else is hideous.
Quote: WizardofnothingThought they had a couple good stp pays there
Used to have $1 9/6. Downgraded years ago to 9/5.
Sequential. First one.
No clue why it's inverted.
Quote: WizardofnothingPlaying single line with all those royals are you playing more then 8 hours a day? Or just running good?
Running good. Probably a total of less than 2000 hands since the last royal last Friday night. I can't sit on an upright for more than an hour at a time. Plus I have time constraints for other things. I'm not there long.

Quote: GWAEFinally hit a royal tonight. Picture won't upload for some reason. It was only for nickles on ux with no multipliers. Owell still finally ends my 3 cycle drought. I played 2500 hands after that so I am onto the next cycle.
Yay you!
After James Randi exposed Popoff's wife broadcasting to his hidden earpiece, those tapes were allowed by the court to be auctioned off. Now they have resurfaced. Terrible mistake.Quote: djatcYou need the healing water from Reverend Popoff
Friend of mine just hit this.
Quote: GWAEGuy sitting next to me hit a 10x royal today. 2k payout for 1.50 bet.
I walked passed a machine at Green Valley Ranch on Friday that had a dealt Royal on Good Times Pay. I didn't see the amount because they were crowded around paying the lady.

Jeez two sequential spade royals seen in a week?
This was me on Wednesday...

On Wednesday saw a lady hit a 10X Royal on dimes at DSTP. 5 or 10 lines...I forget

today, guy next to me hit quad Aces w/kicker with 12x! but it was nickels.
he was ecstatic tho
Quote: IbeatyouracesSlowly getting a beating on NSUD and in for $545, I needed a bathroom break. Came back and within 3 minutes scored the deuces. Exactly 2 hands later I get this...

Snapped this one before the credits were done ringing up. Most of my others are the same.
argh.... imgur is working differently and I can't figure out how to upload pic. The help section instructions aren't helping either. HELP!! This is worth seeing!

I'm big on that too. My royal in march I only had 223 rang up. The last royal was about where yours was in the 2890s, pulled that Jack of clubs too. Poor GWAE... :(

I hate imgur. They always want to link you to a webpage. Also once my anti-virus went off from it.
Great hit! I'm quite jealous!
Here is the pic for others' convenience. I opened the pic in a new tab by right-clicking and then copied THAT hosting address.
You know it's a good hit when they have to reduce the payout font size to fit in the box! ;)
Very cool Diamonds were a guy's best friend that time.Quote: tringlomaneI'm big on that too. My royal in march I only had 223 rang up. The last royal was about where yours was in the 2890s, pulled that Jack of clubs too. Poor GWAE... :(

You guys are so lucky. I once found a five cent slot ticket on the bathroom floor, i didn't get a picture because my camera on my phone wasn't working.
