Alright so I know you can't change the house odds, but what you can do is increase your chance at winning some money at the expense of increasing your risk of ruin. Such as: betting on two of the 1/3's in roulette with a payout of 3:2 2/3 of the time. Betting on the don't in craps. Putting down cash on the money line for a favorite. Or in an extreme case, the "bridge jumpers" the Wizard made for the academy awards.

Let's say I come into a casino with $1000, only of which $500 I really need to get my gambling "fix". The other $500 I'd like to maybe get 200-300 to cover my losses for the $500 session. What bets would you guys make with the $500 to win 200-300? I know the don't offers the best odds, but I'm kind of bias against it since craps is my main game and I make that bet a lot.

Currently, I'm thinking of laying down maybe $600 on a -300 money line or something like that.

it sounds like you want immediate gratification so waiting to win a sportsbet might not be your thing.

if you want to play craps and dont want to wait for a point on the DP, you can always:

pay $20 to risk $480 to win $400 6/11 of the time on a 6 or 8.
pay $16 to risk $480 to win $320 6/10 of the time on a 5 or 9.
pay $12 to risk $480 to win $240 6/9 of the time on a 4 or 10.

if you want to play roulette, you could bet $300 on 1-18 and $200 on 25-36. hit two or three times for a $100 a piece and quit.

Interesting on the roulette. That would also allow me to hit up a single zero table. I actually don't care about the instant gratification, in fact the length of time it would take for a game to occur might actually make it better for me if I lose. Thank you for the ideas.
