I might be in Amsterdam soon for a weekend (fri-sun).
This is what google says about casino locations:

Any info on them?

Also, google also says Holland Casino is the only legal provider of land based casino games in the Netherlands?!
If so, why so many gambling spots on that google map?

And recommendations on cheapish hotel? or just pick one rated 8+ on Hotels.com?
and what tours to book, besides the red 'Hop on/Hop off' double decker bus and Red light district?
(Unlike PokerGrinder, I want a tour guide or tour group)

edit:
Why is the pic so small? It's supoosed to be 1900 x 800.
Here's the link to it: https://ibb.co/N6NXr9J

I've been to the only casino, Holland Casino, with table games in Amsterdam. Like most European casinos, it's sterile and boring. There are several machine-only casinos closer to center of the city, that I would not bother with.

Amsterdam is a great city. One of my favorites in the world. But gambling shouldn't be a reason to go there.

As to a hotel, I don't remember the one I stayed at. Location is the key thing. Anything close to the Amstel River should be fine. Rooms tend to be small in big European cities without much in the way of amenities, so leave your American expectations at home.

I did some work for Holland casinos many years ago. They were a good company to do some work for.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

When I was in the Netherlands, there was a Holland Casino inside the Schipol Airport (AMS). I stayed at the Marriott in AMS, right across the street from the Holland Casino. Within walking distance of their famous Red Light District.

I decided to book a hostel just to see what it's like, ala PokerGrinder.
it's also located near the Red Light District

I have very little experience in Amsterdam, but I was there at the end of a trans-Atlantic cruise. I posted some about my visit to the city and about the Holland Casino when I posted an image of my souvenir chip from the Holland Casino in the Casino Chip of the Day thread. That post is located here. At the bottom of that post, I provide a link to another post in that thread by RideTheEdge, which contains some of his comments about Holland Casino.

I did not enjoy my time there. Slots were older and the limits were high. Not sure if much else has changed in general. Entrance fee too if I recall.

$5 euro entrance fee but it's only once.
Use your players card to get in for free from that point on.

And you can use this link to waive the $5 fee:
https://visitorvoucher.com/amsterdam/holland-casino/

The free drink card is only for non-alcoholic drinks.
But you can order a jack with coke and use the card to pay just for a shot of Jack.

And wizard is correct about the slot parlors are nothing to see.
Although there is a big slot parlor across the street from the Amsterdam stock market that looks like you have to register before entering.
(I didn't bother)
