Hi very new here and to casinos. Maybe a stupid question but i'll ask it anyway. I have to start somewhere. I have a $525 bank roll saved up to start with and build on. Let's say I where to take that and go to a B&M casino near me say 5 days a week and just play til I win $20 dollars and leave. Let's say betting very small I could sustain that for a month without losing the whole $525 and hopefully adding to my measly bankroll. I'm sure the casino will notice me coming in most days a week after a while and cashing out and leaving. So lets say by some miracle I am able to make the $20 a day! Even though it is a small amount will I be asked not to come back after a while of this? Just wondering. LOL

This is the gambler's fallacy that comes from failed intuition, the thoroughly debunked notion that if you always quit while you are ahead, you can beat the house edge, because it is true that at some point you are quite likely to be ahead in a given session. There are plenty of people who refuse to believe it's not a way to beat the house, who come on here refusing to accept facts, let's hope you aren't one of them.

The bottom line is that time when you never do get ahead in a session is still awaiting, and it will take away all your winnings.

Ironically I do recommend quitting while you are ahead, it's much better than being the guy who always keeps gambling till all his money is gone. But if it is a good thing, it is because anything that makes you stop betting is a good thing. And winning once in a while is good for the morale.

But it is not a way to grow your bankroll, sorry.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
So long as you are not disruptive to the casino, and you're not drinking them dry of free drinks and behaving or looking like a vagrant, they will be happy that you keep coming back. They'll rightly expect you to get addicted.
Enjoy and learn from your experience.
As OdiousGambit says, you should expect your bankroll to ebb and flow, but mostly ebb.

Why would anyone say that?

Why not? If he enters with, say $500 in his pocket and plays a few $5 hands of blackjack and then leaves when he's either $20 up, or $20 down, he could, indeed still have some bankroll left at the end of the month, and have some fun doing it. The big risk is that he gets cocky after a win, or over-bets while chases losses. Of course, we know he's likely to end the month with less than he started. I thought the question was 'Would the casino object' To which my answer is 'no'
Oh and to the idea of making 20 a day 5 days a week for a month. That would be +400 or so. He might do that, or he might lose his original bankroll. Planning to win 20 every day is a bit ambitious.

Welcome to the forum.

It is an excellent idea to give in if you reach a goal (say $20 up). On the flipside you need to set a stop loss as well; otherwise, as has been said, on a very bad day you'll find yourself chasing your losses. Also, as you have hinted, it's usually best to play table minimums and avoid the sidebets.

The important thing is to have fun and accept, unless you're very lucky or counting etc., that the balance will tend to ebb away.
