I was at Borgota yesterday and they have changed from 5x odds to 3-4-5. Pitt boss told me it was result of MGM take-over but he didn't expect any other tweaks.

Yeah, they implemented one of those side bets on one of the craps tables as well. Im not sure if it is the 'hot roller' bet or 'all or nothing' bet. Dealers are very good there thought. Great place to play dice!

What difference does it make if the passline bets stays the same to the casino? You would think some people having more chips around tend to throw more money around on bets besides odds bets. Taking away the need to have more chips in hand might reduce bets they could be profitable on. The casino isn't actually doing anything that helps them, and it could slow down the game explaining things. Oh well, just advocating simplicity and letting people play.
I am a robot.

I just care about rhythm and flow on the craps table. Keep the dice moving and I am happy. Make quick hits and walk. This has proven to be my greatest success in all of my craps endeavors. They could have 1000x odds.. It makes no difference to me. If Im willing to put up , say 5000 on a number to hit or not, I can just place that number or lay that number.. the difference in pay out infinitesimal. If I place the number, I can take it down any time.. When you play the come, then back it up, you are committed on the come bet, and most likely you will live your odds behind until that number is made twice now before the most probable number 7.

I understand the differences to be mathematically miniscule as far as the numbers go, but that 3x4x5x games go a bit faster and so the house edge will work its 'black magic' against your bankrole at a slightly higher rate.

Math types may salivate at this news but I won't. I can't afford to fly to Atlantic City anyway.

It is the "hot roller" and they have it at only 1 of the 9 tables. And yes, I second your endorsement re the dealers. I've found them to be very friendly, efficient, and accurate.

Well, that is very desirable and it is usually an indication that player sobriety and volume will be at a good level also. I do not care for frenetic and noisy tables full of drunks or side conversations. A nice fairly sedate and well run game with normal levels of exuberance is just fine.

I almost always play on a Sunday afternoon so I can't give you a read on what the vibe is on a Friday or Saturday night. For what it's worth, I've yet to encounter a drunk at the tables. Usually there is one group of 5 or 6 guys in their 30s who are probably on husbands-only weekend away from their significant other. The rest of the players seem to be serious players (i.e., they want to play craps as opposed to getting wasted and rowdy). Lots of regulars and also couples. I would estimate ~ 20% of the guys are with their girlfriends/wives.
