8/4/2016- Harrahs: amount won $100k, denom $9999, IGT Poker
this cant be right. looks like a Royal @ $25 denom?
other notables:
5/28/16- Taj Mahal: won $176k, $0.25 denom, triple play poker.
wow.. big prize for such a small denom.
I'm guessing some sort of progressive? dealt sequential royal?
4/2/16- Caesars: won $176k, $9999 denom, Ultimate X
What hand could this be?
Dealt Royal? Dealt Aces with kicker?
12x, 11x, 10x?

If you were to force a guess out of me, then I would speculate that it was probably on one of the quarter Triple-Play Joker Poker (2P) machines that have a progressive for hitting three five-of-a-kinds.

Not three but getting dealt 5 of a kind and yes that is the machine that hit- it's normally at 83k so that was pretty high for what I've seen at the taj

I assume the report isn't formatted to print $10,000.. so they are using a denomination of 9999.... but still I've never seen a VP machine at that level.

I'm certain it's a default when it's not listed properly- there is not a 10k video poker anywhere in the country that I know of . The highest I think I have ever seen is a 25 dollar multi line for 625 a spin

The round amount makes it unlikely that it was a multi-hand game, but it's certainly possible to configure a 20-play game with $100 credits or a 100-play game with $25 credits. Both of those would crack the 10k/play threshold, though why anyone would play at that level -- and get a W-2G every other spin -- is beyond me.Quote: 100xOddshttp://www.nj.gov/lps/ge/docs/Financials/Jackpot/JACKPOT_PUBLICATION.pdf

If a whale has the front money for a private salon, the casino will spread whatever the whale wants it to spread. But then you'd see a lot more entries in that Jackpot list, so that's probably not what happened.Quote: WizardofnothingI have never seen a 100 play machine above the 2 dollar level- a 100 play at 5 dollar level would have to be a key turn jurisdiction or it would not be playable a

Not trying to argue but I'm. Not sure that is true- Richard Brodie requested 500 machine denom and at the time they wouldn't allow it and flagged him- so ok maybe you say he is an ap- however casinos limit their exposure- just because a whale posts 50mil doesn't mean they let him bet 2.5 mil. A hand- I was on a play for ux and constantly asked for a 5 dollar denom and was willing to post whatever and they said the max jackpot is above their tolerance level certainly. A 10k pull per spin would cost the casino 40 million for a royal I doubt any casino would want to fade that

That's true for undercapitalized casinos, but SCA exists for a reason. If someone wanted to play at my casino for $10k/pull, I'd do two things. One is buy a jackpot insurance policy from a risk hedging firm like SCA. Two is fly them in and give them the cushiest chair I had. There are many ways to mitigate risk if you have someone worth $40,000/hour come through your door. I'd hate to let an opportunity like that go.
What's interesting about your story is that you were probably under their "we'll bend over backwards for you" threshold but above their self-funded risk threshold. If I were a casino manager, there'd be no daylight between those two numbers. Of course, most casino managers probably don't look at gaming operations as a quantifiable risk mitigation exercise.
