For what ever reason you hold just the JD.
how many 3 of a kinds are possible on the draw?
I have worked it and reworked it over and over again. When I compare it to WinPoker, I am only three higher then determined by WinPoker. I am stumped.
and yes that would exclude 4 of a kinds and full houses.
4290 waysQuote: odd1In five card draw you are dealt 7D 7H 7S JD 3C.

If I understand your question.
there are C(47,4) *ways* to be dealt the next 4 cards by keeping just the JD
you want 3oak without FH or 4oak
for the math on how to do this long hand,
that can be found at many sites on the net for free or if someone really wants to do this for you
Easier to show your work first and look to see what is correct and not correct
IF that is what you are looking for.
I use a few programs to compute the values (and a computer) Does it match WinPoker?

Your results match my results. I get 4290 3oak and WinPoker states 4287.
WinPoker on my #2 laptop shows 4287 as you also see
Video Poker for Winners shows 4290
looks like you found an
odd1
Quote: odd1I never took the time to analyze it before. We always just accepted the winPoker was right. When submitting Video Gaming Machines to our state, the state accepted winPoker as proof for our paytables.
Whoops.
Quote: odd1I just downloaded video poker for winners. I will use that for my testing in the future.
Good move. But I'm definitely surprised there is a winPoker bug.

Yes, I know that MT accepts WinPoker. I wonder how many jurisdictions do?
Quote: odd1CrystalMath, Yes - I'm talking about MT. You have worked very closely with the odd1 for several years.
I've worked with several odd ones ;)
