Before a number rolls, if i were to call the 6 for example, what would the odds be of hitting it back to back. Is it just 38 x 38? 1 of 1444. Or 1443 to 1

Yeah, 1/1444 for a double zero wheel.

Yeah, there's nothing mystical about it.
The odds of hitting any specific number is 1/38 (or 1/37 for single zero wheels).
Call that 'X'
The odds of hitting the number twice in a row is x ^ 2.
The odds of ANY repeat (i.e. simply seeing a repeat pop up on that display board) is x.
The odds of ANY three-peat (i.e. seeing a three-in-a-row on that display board) is x ^ 2.

Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood? 😁

Those would be the odds before any specific number hit the first time. Once a number has hit, it is 1/38 it will repeat.

While the odds are 1 : 1444 (38*38) the odds of it happening at least once in slightly over 1027 spins are 50% . So over the course of a day it is probably going to happen at least once.
