Planning a trip to Vegas with the wife soon and I am wondering which casinos in Vegas are using the "VIP Preferred" check system? Particularly which locations MIGHT have their self-serve ATM-type of e-check "kiosk" machines available?
A lot of casinos use this company for their check processing (I think it's "Global Payments") but at the CAGE for any check dollar amount, here at the MGM near where we live, they charge a $9 fee (for teller "service" at the cage).
BUT THESE E-CHECK MACHINES ARE FREE! No FEE, at all!!!
So, thing with them is, you can easily just withdraw $20 or $100 or whatever at a time, many times, and it costs nothing. For me this is much better than being 'forced' to take out a larger $$$ just because of the fee but still be able to access up to your full amount of available gambling funds.
Here is a photo of what these E-Check, self-serve kiosk type machines look like:
Click-For-Imgur-Pic
I looked on the company's web site and they list locations using VIP Preferred but it is not clear anywhere which are "cage service" only and charging a fee versus these FREE self-serve machines.
I'd like to get a list of where any/all of these self-serve machines may be located, in and around Las Vegas, in order to decide where we will stay on our trip.
Can anyone here help me with this? If you've seen these machines around Vegas please report, post photos, and or maybe even if someone there would be willing to go out and around town scouting for these machines for me? I may be even willing to pay for that service LOL
Thanks in advance, any help or info.
Mike
P.S. I can't seem to get the image-link embed above to work, does this site allow it?
Here is the URL for the photo ... hxxps: // i.imgur.com/ lvugtPn.png -- remove spaces and change hxx to htt
Here's the image:
(how did you do it? I could edit my post maybe and fix it)
Anyway yeah maybe this other MGM is doing something hinky but still just want to find if these self-serve machines will be available somewhere in Vegas, to be able to use my account that I know I have already set up for this kind of thing.
I don't want to have to set up any other accounts with other companies or services if not needed, y'know?
Here is the main web site for this company/service, VIP Preferred:
hxxps:// www. vippreferred . com
And I found this, apparently a site for the casinos about this service/system they offer:
hxxps:// www. globalpaymentsgaming . com /global-payments-gaming-e-check
And this here looks to me like that KIOSK (one of the design models, apparently the most simple one):
hxxps:// www. globalpaymentsgaming . com /global-payments-gaming-full-service-kiosk
SO... anyone?
Who out there, can spot one or more of these animals out in the "wilds" of Las Vegas Casino Floor Space? :)
Quote: mikeBHHey thanks for the reply and for putting my image embedded correctly
(how did you do it? I could edit my post maybe and fix it)
I think you need 10 posts before you're able to embed an image.
Quote: rsactuaryI think you need 10 posts before you're able to embed an image.
Okay I see, yeah well then that'd explain it 'cuz I'm a noob here LOL
So anyway also I found this location lookup page on the company's site :
hxxps:// www. vippreferred . com /en/gaming-network-directory
And it indicates 137 locations using their service within 500 miles of searching simple "Las Vegas"
Zooming in on the strip, etc appears as if virtually everyone is using this. But I know from other local casinos here in midwest that a lot of casinos have switched to other check and e-check service companies.
And this VIP Preferred site has some clearly outdated material on it like talking about an upgrade that "should be done" by hopefully "2015"? Um, hello? It's 2019 now!
So? Still bottom line can't seem to find out exactly what's what.
Which casinos ARE actually using this service?
Which of those, offer only cage-service (and fee?)
Which may have the self-serve kiosks up and running?
Which are offering the kiosks with NO FEE, or any fee?
I'm really not sure how to find answers to these questions other than someone IN Vegas going around and just looking?
hxxps:// www. globalpaymentsgaming . com /global-payments-lsk4100
Kind of not that any of this actually matters, however LOL
But, it's there - info for what it's worth.
I'm sure out of 130+ possible customers of this company that certainly SOME locations using their service have purchased these kiosks.
The single real-world MGM location where I've used it before is absolutely not the only one in the world, right? 100% certain LOL
So it's a good bet there ARE at least a few in and around Las Vegas, but I don't want to plan my trip staying in a location that doesn't have one.
Even if there's one located in just the casino next door? That'd be a pain in the ass to have to walk far to get a few bucks more to gamble with.
Just wanna figure a way to get a list of where these damn machines actually ARE, out there in the City of Sin, right?
Anybody can help??
Quote: teddysI've used this service quite a bit. It used to be completely free. Now, they charge, unless you are Seven Stars at Caesars. If I recall, Caesars is 2.5%, Cosmo is 2%, MGM is 1.5%. This is in Vegas.
Caesar's Diamond, they don't charge me to write a check at the cage.
Just to be clear though, you guys confirming they have these self-serve KIOSKS in the locations mentioned?
I really prefer to just go take my money out of my checking account myself thru a machine rather than at the cage with a person. I don't know why just I guess "private" that way, something LOL
Anyway disappointed to learn there's a fee, but even at the MGM near me I guess now they've added a fee too! Last time I was at the casino a few months ago it was NO FEE on the kiosk but they charged like a $9 fee for cage service.
But now? Just yesterday a friend of mine told me the kiosks service there as of JUNE 1, 2019 is now charging a $4.50 fee.
So, yeah, it's half of the cage service fee, big whoop, but still greedy as f!#/ in my opinion.
ARE THERE ANY SELF-SERVE KIOSK LOCATIONS IN VEGAS USING THIS SYSTEM/COMPANY THAT STILL OFFER NO FEE???
If so, then THAT'S where I am gonna BOOK my upcoming vacation!!!!!

I think you've gotten answers that tell you what people know specific to the question you've repeated in caps, so you weren't misunderstood. Nobody seems to know where you can find this service in a free kiosk. Chances are it isn't available, because I haven't seen any LV casino kiosks over the last 20 years that don't charge a fee, regardless of the company providing them.
But I would think the best place to check would be the website itself - look at it more closely for a legend that tells you which locations are kiosk, or whatever other service is provided. My credit union uses a shared kiosk system, and its website tells you what services each outlet provides. Same with Amex ATM services, and other networks.
Also, keep it PG. Warning. I masked your F-bomb. Please don't do any more cussing in future posts. Thank you.
I've been known to.cross a street to use a lower fee atm but making it a priority when planning a vacation?
Just carry the cash you need for the trip. How hard is that?
Quote: billryanWells Fargo limits ATM withdrawals to $310 a day. That's good for when you need emergency cash but worthless at a casino.
You should be able to bump that up with WF.
I come here asking about these check-cashing kiosks in Vegas. A legitimate question seems to me, should be of interest to anyone who needs to access their money on a Vegas trip.
I get scolded for an "f-bomb" (sorr-eee!) and chastised for wanting to save money on transaction fees, made fun of (?) and told to use ATM machines or "just carry all your cash with you".
And there's not one person IN VEGAS here reading that can even just simply confirm IF these kiosks EXIST at all in even ONE Vegas location?
Really? 🤔 Hm.
Okay-ee then. Sorr-eee again I guess. Whatevs.

This forum is comprised only of 1) Feared APs who clean out the casino cage’s cash supply on a daily basis or 2) baccarat system players who methodically beat the house.
ATM kiosk fees are a nuisance felt only by those who occasionally succumb to the house edge and need to get addditional funds to play with. Maybe there’s a forum out there with commonfolk like that among its members that you can ask
Updating in case anyone's searching for VIP Preferred info in future...
I just canceled mine. It was like having an ATM card with a $7K limit (after a few un-asked-for limit increases). Crazy. Having that kind of easy no-fee access to my bank accounts enabled some loss-chasing of epic proportions, which resulted in a number of staggering wins and probably a greater number of staggering losses. I discovered my sense of financial responsibility is impaired in the casino. So now I'll be constrained by my ATM limit unless I have some cash on hand from recent wins.
For a while it began to seem like all I needed for big wins was deep pockets (thanks to the card) and nerves of steel. It's been a rollercoaster with big highs and lows... And the lows are not sustainable.

How do I enroll to the VIP Preferred™ E-Check service?

Gaming Network Directory
VIP Preferred is accepted at more than 500 casinos and interactive gaming sites across North America. Find a location near you.
https://www.vippreferred.com/en/gaming-network-directory
Only accepted at horse racing tracks near me.
Each casino will decide whether they will cash your check for a fee or for free, and it isn't advertised or posted anywhere. It'll be hit and miss whether you can avoid fees. If you find a place that's free, that should be your home base for check cashing. If you want to deposit your winnings, you can only deposit back up to what you've already taken out. If you have much bigger winnings, better get a cashier's check at the cage.
Quote: MichaelBluejaymikeBH, you question is legitimate, and I'm sorry I don't have answers to it. When other members here are snarky (and there are lots of them), I suggest using the "Block" button.
The question is absolutely legitimate. And it's frustrating that VIP Preferred does nothing to answer it on their site. My bank can tell me where an ATM is, whether it accepts deposits, whether it's in a place that is accessible 24 hours/day, etc, etc, etc. But VIP Preferred makes it hard to even see the list of casinos that use their services, let alone which services are used by what casinos.
I've been to about 700 casinos collecting chips. I've used my VIP Preferred card at about 100 of them (yes, I still have their physical card even though the service is now ID/phone # based). I've never paid a fee or seen a kiosk. I take that to mean that both are rare. But, maybe things have just changed since I last used the card anywhere but my local casino. It's been about a year since I did that. And really I've only used it at my local to keep it from expiring due to non-use.
Part of the issue with answering the question is that it requires local knowledge - someone who lives in Vegas might know what is happening locally. But, people who live in Vegas are also local to their banks. No need to use a 3rd party service when the branch is right there, so no need to pay attention to in-casino kiosks or cashing fees.
And for what it's worth I am not "planning a thousand dollar trip around saving a $9 fee" because as I stated at the start, the way I like to use this kind of FREE ACCESS service to my checking account is to be able to take out small amounts to gamble with, even just twenty bucks at a time, but many many times over the course of the trip. This could be dozens of small withdrawals, get it? A few dozen FREE withdrawals of $20 or $50 or $100 each, so what who cares if it is FREE of any service charge!!!
A few dozen withdraws of $50 even, over the course of the trip, when there is a $5 fee on it however? Now you're looking at a couple hundred dollars which IS "material" expense comparable to the cost of the plane ticket.
So. Yeah. No. Sorry for snarky replies to the snark I got at first but IT IS a LEGIT issue, real question.
But if these FREE kiosk machines are really ALL GONE now? Even though it was only a couple months ago I used one at my local MGM, well then that's information to settle the question too, anyway, isn't it.
But yeah the VIP Preferred website is ZERO helpful info at all, and I tried emailing them but they replied to my email with a form email saying to CALL on the phone. So I did that and was put on a hold que... where I waited about 30 minutes with NOBODY picking up, before finally getting frustrated and hanging up.
So... that didn't work either. Maybe I'll try again to call 'em another day.
Meanwhile I guess IF just ANYONE reading this who is IN LAS VEGAS just THINKS about it... when you're walking thru the casinos IF you happen to just SEE one of these type machines?? TAKE A PICTURE and check whatever may be a fee notice posted on it, will ya? Then post the info here to this thread?
Much obliged if someone/anyone can do that here next week or two. My trip's not until end of summer so there's time to still research this.
Now society is changing. Many merchants have a no-cash policy. You use debit cards or you don't shop there. Any 'change' goes onto some sort of proximity card. Some Scandinavian countries have announced a goal to be totally free of coins and totally free of currency.
We have had a variety of threads on how to transport funds to Vegas and how to carry money/chips around with you in Vegas.
Perhaps multiple visits to a free kiosk is some sort of impulse control.
I've never seen a need to visit an ATM on a frequent basis and tend to use grocery stores instead of atms anyway.
little things can be important to people. A physically remote Valet Parking kiosk is often much loved. you swipe your casino card en route to the valet and by the time you get there, your car is there also.
if you truly value a free kiosk and want to use it several times a day, fine.
It is that, probably yeah. But also a "security" measure as well.
If I have $2000 to lose on my trip but I only access it, to lose slowly, as I'm losing, fifty bucks at a time?
Well then in theory also I am not gonna have $2000 in my wallet at any one point, vulnerable to being robbed or a lost wallet or anything like that.
Yeah sure I know: if I win? Yeah then I'm gonna have all that cash back "on me" again! But that's a problem I won't mind having.
That's what the wife is for, giving the money back to her, right? Or FedEx it back home to yourself in the mail, something like that LOL
>>> So easy to deposit that money and withdraw without a charge.
Um. Dude. No. Seriously?
First of all the ATM machines located in the casinos are NOT the free access ones run/managed by these big BANKS, are they?
The machines in casinos are raping people on fees for credit card cash advances and etc.
Second of all going out of the casino, into the city hoofing it all over hell and back to find one of these big bank branch locations, to save the transaction fee? Um. No.
Again, people: POINT was these E-CHECK kiosks (a) are located ON the gaming floor and (b) have (or "had" perhaps) NO FEE
---
THESE ANIMALS "ARE" UNIQUE, apparently!!! Okay? People clearly DON'T FREAKIN' KNOW ABOUT 'EM
But I'm trying to find out what is really their status i.e. locations access info fees etc etc. Asking for HELP to find this stuff out.
Please no more "oh just go use a bank machine man" or "oh just carry your cash and put it in the safe" or "oh oh oh what-freakin-ever"
Cripes.
Um, YES! Exactly!!
That's precisely WHY I posted this thread, because (again) just as recently as a couple months ago, the machine in question, the kiosk which I posted the PHOTO of, here at the MGM near me locally... wait for it... WAIT FOR IT....
WAS. FREE. OF. CHARGE. TO. USE. AS. MUCH. AS. YOU. LIKED!!!
Free as in ZERO fee. No Cost. Bupkis outta pocket. Free.
It was *weird* yes because if I recall on the screen there was an "intermittent" click-thru page which said to the customer, something like, "This transaction will incur the following fee" but there was right there on the screen the lovely numbers... $0.00
And YES as noted also since then, only a couple months, I heard from a friend that these local machines NOW are charging $4.50.
So YES maybe they don't exist, any more.
Maybe the ONE that I just most recently used here locally a couple months ago was the ONLY ONE EVER TO EXIST (?) ANYWHERE.
But? Maybe NOT.
Maybe others "EXIST"
So, YES, again as you said exactly, "It Certainly Would Be Great If Your Device Was Fee Free"
Maybe others "EXIST" ?
THAT'S what I am TRYING to FIND OUT!

Noone on this forum transitions between capital and lower case letters with such voracity.
As I read your posts in my head, I think the capitalized words much louder. It becomes confusing when you go lower case word followed by exclamation point.
Enjoy your vacation. 36 trips to a kiosk to withdraw $20 sounds like a rip roarin’ time.
To most of us, it does not, but to this poster it does whether it be due to exaggerated fear of pickpockets or an excessive technique of impulse control.Quote: michael99000. 36 trips to a kiosk to withdraw $20 sounds like a rip roarin’ time.

I came to this forum to ask a simple question and (hopefully) get some HELP from people who are actually physically in Vegas.
Question is about these no-fee e-check kiosks operated by VIP Preferred.
"Do They Exist Anywhere In Vegas"
It's NOT that "big a deal". I am NOT "over reacting". It's a god damm simple question, that's all.
The need for and level of SNARK on this board is un-freakin-believeable. WTF is wrong with you people?
Really?
What do I need to do/say/whatever to just get some EYES on the GROUND out there in the Vegas casinos?
Can't anyone just spend five seconds when you're out there on the gaming floor and look around long enough to see if any of these things exist anywhere in any of the LV casinos?
Am I really ASKING for so much? And again WHY the "snark"? Does it make you feel important or a "big man" or something or WTF, really?
(Honestly I am not trying to be "snarky" myself either with this question, sorry if it sounds like that! I really honestly want to know! Okay? I mean, honestly, really, WTF is wrong with you people?)

There are 2@Southpoint by each of the 2 hotdog stands.
The M has one but you have to be Producer or Icon to use it. It is accessible in the VIP lounge.
There are 2 at Texas Station in the little gray huts in the parking lot, use before entering.
1 in the Stratosphere is in the club level stairwell entrance.
Binion's specifically has a sign up, "No No Fee ATMs Don't Ask"
In luck though downtown as 1 can be found in the Golden Gate by the parking validator.
The Longhorn has a coupon for free ATM use with any food purchase. Also get a free ace.
Skyline has one by the standing hotdog sign.
Take a drive to Club Fortune and they have one. Your receipt gets $5 Freeplay.*BEST DEAL
Silver Nugget has a free chicken dinner and grape drink with ATM use. Show receipt.
Only one on Strip is Casino Royale by the restroom entrance.
Boulder Station and Wild Wild West are only 2 Station properties with them, except Texas.
Lucky Club has one next to the trucker showers in back.
Lesson here, seems to be, follow the hotdog stand. Weird but true.
I'm thinking I should build an app for this. Do you think every idiot who doesn't carry cash when visiting Vegas will pay a $1.99 one time fee for this valuable info?
Edit: Almost forgot the Alamo by the, you guessed it, hotdog place in the food court.

At an average house edge of twelve percent, I sure don't play slot machines. And at a casino, I often 'accidentally' leave my cell phone in the room to avoid that call for a toasted bagel.

Ahaha, outstanding.
My Chase account now gives me unlimited ATM fee reimbursement. To say I abuse that is an understatement. I'm wondering when they will kick me out. However, I've never had to pay at ATM fee in any casino.
VIP preferred now gives me a $5000 limit. No idea why -- I often don't have that amount in my checking account. It's a $5 fee to use at my local and free if you have a top tier card. DANGEROUS. Useful if you're a bulletproof AP, but I've had friends go on mega-tilt with this feature and hurt themselves badly. I've come close myself.
