Good morning. I used to stay at the Days Inn on Koval Lane. An internet search yields some very bad reviews. There is also a Super 8 just across the street which prices out higher.
Koval Lane in that area is a good location, a block from Ballys and very close to Caesars etc..
Anyone have recent experiences with these or other nearby(perhaps new) hotels?
Thank you in advance. I'm not a cheap charlie but since staying a month or two, don't want to waste money on an expensive strip or downtown hotel in the actual "zone". Tapping in and out is fine.

I've been in that Super 8. It seemed nice enough, and having Ellis Island right there is a plus compared to other non-casino hotels. For the cost of staying at that hotel, you could probably also stay at a midlevel place downtown. I'm not sure if that's worth it to you, but I'd expect the 4 queens or el cortez to be similarly priced.

Thanks for the reply. The "problem" with hotels like the Four Queens and El Cortez is the weekend and holidays, higher rates and even "full". I'm not comfortable at/with the fleabag joints on Boulder Highway down past the Western if same still exist. Koval seemed a decent area.

I agree that Koval & Flamingo is a good area. Some Vegas hotels are much worse - either dirtier or more run down or less safe - than the other casinos in their respective chains. That Super 8 is a perfectly average Super 8, and that makes it very fairly priced as well.
You might also think about the Clarion. It's probably similarly priced to the Super 8. In my opinion Clarion is a little nicer hotel, with bigger rooms which might be nice for a long stay, but it's in a less convenient (and possibly less safe) area.

I have not stayed at the Super 8 next to Ellis Island on Koval. The only place I have stayed at that I would not stay at again is a Crestwood Suites out by the airport. Broken furniture, cheap rates, and the clientele to go with it.
