I feel left behind sometimes here because I never really learned to count... officially. I mean I've left a table after I see a ton of aces come up, but I haven't really done it "Professionally" yet. Seeing as it's probably somewhere on the Wizard's site, would someone who has been there before mind linking me? In addition, I have a couple of basic questions:
1. What kind of a player advantage could you get when playing with 2 or 6 decks while counting? Basically, I don't want to start at a table with a 1% house advantage to learn that counting will only bring me up to even.
2. What casinos in vegas would you recommend I start at, and what minimum? I would think the gigantic properties owned by MGM or Harrah's would either be clearly superior or clearly inferior to somewhere smaller like Tuscany. I will have no access to a car.
3. What are some things I should keep in mind while counting, like things you would tell newbies?

I don't count, but am awed by those than can, and can do it well. Heck, when I'm playing, if I have more than two cards in my hand, I often can't even figure out what my total is! Count the aces and tens in the shoe? No way!

But back to your question...
On the regular site, there is a search box at the top right of every page. I entered 'Card Counting'. This is the first hit I got:
https://wizardofodds.com/blackjack/count/
I'm pretty sure that's exactly what you were looking for.
If not, doing such a search brings up a bunch of pages.

I am not a counter, so take this with a grain of salt. But I have tried it and (largely) failed.

You should not even be thinking about what casino you should play in. You will need to practice for at least 3-4 months before you even set foot into a casino. You should be able to count down 1, 2 then 4-6 decks in a very fast amount of time, then adjust for the true count. You also need to pick a counting system. There are a lot out there, some easier (and less powerful) then others.
------------------
There is not much on this site about card counting. Get a good book out of the library or bookstore. I like "Blackbelt in Blackjack" by Arnold Snyder.
------------------
Even then you will still have to deal with the stress in the casino of giving cover and making sure your counting is not detected.

I've been learning to count over the past couple of weeks and boy, it's not nearly as easy as I thought it would be! I'm usually good with numbers and I have a good memory, but multi-tasking was never my strong suit. I can count down a deck very quickly and accurately. I've even been dealing to 4 hands to myself with a 6-deck shoe and usually end up within +/-2 by the end. However, when I had my wife deal to me and occasionally talk, I couldn't even add 2+2! I have a long way to go ;-)
After a bit of research, I decided to start with the Red 7 count. It's an unbalanced count, so you don't need to do a true count conversion, but you still get most of the benefits of more sophisticated counts. You may also want to try KO, which is similar.
Heading to Vegas the first of April, so we'll see if I'm ready.

El Cortez is the last casino with single deck full pay 3:2 blackjack. You can't double after you split or resplit aces, but you can double down on any two cards. No surrender. Just take the bus to downtown and walk to sixth street. If you go early you can get a table either by yourself or with one other person.

El Cortez will boot you if you even vary your bet from $5 to $20, so that's out.
