I hope this isn't too dumb of a question, but why are the odds different in card craps?

The odds are a little different because cards are removed from the deck as they are used. So, if you get a 6 the first card, you have a lower chance of getting a 6 on the next card. With dice, they are totally independent; if a 6 appears on the first die, it doesn't affect the outcome of the second die.

Ok, the casino I played cardcraps at did it totally differently. They laid out 6 cards A-6 for one roll and the same for the other. I'd love to play the way the op describes. That game is countable! Countable craps, very cool!

countable card craps has been thoroughly analyzed over at discountgambling.
As for the straight bet, the math looks ok. You should also improve your odds with counting.

I do not know if it is a good opportunity or not.
However in case it is a good one ,posting casino`s name will ruin the opportunity.
People at the casino google their name and find out what is going on or friend /family google the casino`s name let them know what they find and countermeasure is taken place.
