Hi. Recently I found a casino here in mexico in which they change the rule (on benefit of the player) regarding the payment of the "ante" bet. This bet is usually paid when the dealer qualify at least with a pair. But in this casino the bet qualify as long as you win the "PLAY" bet. In other words if you win the hand, they pay you play and ante. (Payment of the blind us as usual you need a straigh or better).

My question is, what is the house edge with this different rule? And do I keep using basic strategy as provided bu the wizard or shall I make any proper changes?

Thanks in advance

If they're actually doing this then you have a 10%+ player edge. Play the game forever using the same basic strategy.

There's almost no chance this is the casino's rule though. Even if it is, I'd still be hesitant to play it since it's Mexico and they'd probably murder you if you win too much.

Sabre thanks for your fast response. I know it sounds incredible but thats the rule. They also have this rule in BJ in which you can surrend against any card including Aces. And when you have a pair of aces you can split them and double the bet on both aces.

Regarding UTH I most be doing something wrong, I played basic strategy but been taking a hard beating. Perhaps I shall take more attention to other players hands, the tables are always full and the casino doesnt mind people showing their cards. I guess basic strategy shall be considered, for example raising 4x with AK when you know there are other A and K on somebodys hand already.
