In my Casino we have been approached by a manufacturer who has offered us to implement a variation of Stud Poker that they call - Cash Poker:

In general the rules are as follows:

1. The House does not play.
2. The players places only an initial bet and receives then 5 cards.

Win table is as follows:
one pair (2-2 to 7-7) STAND OFF
one pair (8-8 to A-A) 1 - 1
2 Pairs 2 - 1
Three of a kind 3 - 1
Straight 5 - 1
Flush 6 - 1
Full house 7 - 1
Four of a kind 50 - 1
Straight Flush 70 - 1
Royal Straight Flush 100 - 1

3. If the player wins with a winning combination of Three of a kind or better, he automatically qualifies to play BONUS hand and receives aagain 5 playing cards from the same deck.

4. If the player has a winning combination with the BONUS hand he shall be paid according to the above paytable.

5. If the player fails to get a winning combination, he does NOT lose the initial bet, but obviously also doesn't win anything.

My question is if it really is advantageous enough to the house to implement a Poker variation under these rules.
The way I see it the player needs a very little winning combination to get a stand off as well as he only needs a relatively small winning combination to get the FREE Bonus hand where the same win table is in play and where there is no risk of losing his bet.

I shall be most grateful for an opinion on the matter.

Thank You

Frank

Is there a draw? Sounds like the "fortune" bet in "Fortune Pai Gow" without the Pai Gow. Not very interesting, as it is the equivalent of 8's or better video poker, without a draw.

I'm a bit unclear on the rules. Do you mean that a player who gets 3 of a kind on the initial hand doesn't win 3-1, but instead goes into a bonus round where they get another 5 cards? Or do they win the 3-1 AND go into the bonus round?

Exactly - the player gets paid his winning hand AND gets another hand with the same initial bet as his previous winning hand.
No matter what the outcome is of this hand the player will not lose his initial bet.

Boring. The player has a 2.87% chance of getting 3 of kind or better. You are playing video poker with no draw... at table game pace.

The game would be very easy to analyze, since the probabilities of all these stud hands are known. But I wouldn't bother introducing the game, since it will bore your players to tears.
