Now that the Lion's Share is gone what is the next best play in Las Vegas for a big jackpot?

For me the Lion's Share had several compelling properties:

- a high payout on the jackpot

- a relatively low cost i.e.; $3 for an immediate chance at that jackpot

- people guessed that expectation value for playing the game was positive

My wife and I would put in enough money for 7 pulls each and let any lesser winnings ride.

Given all of the above what would people recommend as our replacement for the long shot when we visit Las Vegas?

I still want a chance at a jackpot worth $1,000,000 or more and a fairly low cost for a chance at that jackpot -- say no more than $5 for a max bet. I realize that a positive expectation value is probably out of the question.

What game/machine would you recommend in Las Vegas for this?

I think dollar Wheel of Fortune's jackpot is seven figures now. I can't remember if it's $2 or $3 needed for the progressive.

The hard part is, finding somewhere where it's loose. The Strip is pretty much out of the question, and even downtown, it could be hit or miss. (Maybe it was just a bad run, but it seemed tight when I played it at Downtown Grand.)

Stay away from Megabucks, however - Nevada keeps a separate accounting of play on Megabucks machines, and the return appears to average 90%, although I don't know how much of that can be attributed to a possible lower return on penny Megabucks.
