Quote: HunterhillSo what is the off the top edge for steering in the 6-5 game?
One deck, H17, DOA, BJ:6/5
Player's first card = T-value, player edge = 11.72%
Player’s first card = A, player edge = 43.57%
Were you one of the people on that team?
Do you know them?Quote: HunterhillNo it wasn't me.
Of course it makes no difference, but I thought you probably know the guys who just did this, so it was idle curiosity.Quote: HunterhillWhat difference would it make whether I know them or not?

That's funny, now that you mention it, this happened at my old casino just a few days back. One of the guys I trained picked them up.......
Not that it had anything to do with anything, just saying :)

The lights are green, so I think there's a card in there. They're yellow when the slot is vacant, and red when the card doesn't register. All FWIW.
THIS thread has been split and the off-topic discussion of whether AP is Gambling can be found HERE .

Yeah, that's what I was trying to debate on. She doesn't have a countdown clock. I was debating on whether it was green or yellow. I very well may be color blind.

Honestly I think the thread-splittings have been pretty fast and loose lately. Just because someone asks you to split a thread doesn't mean you're obliged to do it.
In this case, the topics were pretty similar and intertwined. Makes better sense together. IMO.

I don't disagree, but I think it could have gone either way. The tipping point was that the OP was the one who asked for the split, and it was echoed by another person. It appeared to hang together with the split I made, so I went with it.
Quote: kubikulannTrade, or consulting (indep or not), or most business commitment, are only available to people with natural social skills: it involves many interactions with other people, and mostly needing your being proactive in creating the encounter (prospection, contact, selling, persuasion, etc.)
Also, it requires an element of willingness to treat those other people as objects of profit for yourself.
Sorry, but most people are NOT good at these things, and / or not willing to interact in this way.
So AP may be a way to use your brains to make money without the feeling that you steal someone (please, don't confuse AP and cheating). It also requires less social skill. No client, no boss, no accountant,...
The other jobs with these characteristics are not usually well-paid. Or when they are, it requires the same social skills only to FIND the right job and convince an employer.
A very nice description of an isolated AP.
Very few(or none) APs are actually succesful working alone.
As in any realm of life and business, the more you know about a subject the more you realise you ignore.
