You gave an answer to Donald from Rochester, New York, about a Let It Ride tournament that he was invited to. Your answer puzzled me as you told him to keep his bets at a minimum to cut down on the casino grind,but to raise his bets at times. When would you know when to raise the bets? By keeping track of what the other people have in front of them and if they are ahead of you ,raise? I believe I am in the same tournament as Donald. Thanks for a great site.

You're going to want to get a book on tournament strategy, it's a very complex subject. Essentially, to win you have to be lucky, but to maximize your EV in a -EV game, you should make many min bets. But you need a big score to advance, so at somewhat random times (especially if another player just hit a big hand), you need to make large bets and hope you also get a big hand.

Do you go to the drag strip in Englishtown? I've spent many a weekend there but not recently. I can see the jokes coming. It's a place to to race cars. ;)

Is this tournament at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona NY by any chance?
