I will be going to Vegas soon. I don't carry credit cards by personal choice and I only have a Paypal account. That Paypal account allows me to have a debit card, but it has a low ATM withdrawal limit. If I purchase a "certified" type money order (USPS, Western Union, or one from a bank), will I have any problem cashing it at the cage for cash? Or will they force me to use markers?

Any help is appreciated.

ETA: PayPal won't raise the ATM limit.

Call Paypal and have your ATM limit raised.

Have never had any problem with Traveler's Checks at the cage, anywhere in LV.

Me neither, always used them when I wanted to carry a large amount with me.

I've never had trouble cashing traveler's checks in several different countries. But in every case they either gave me a less favorable exchange rate, or charged a comission. This on top of whatever fee the checks' issuer charges. So you may want to consider that.

Last I knew there were limits on Money Orders, I think the max. denomination from the USPS was $700.
That may have changed since 2009.
Some people need to reimagine their thinking.
