When a word contains the xAxER pattern, it will usually throw a bunch of people for a loop... since that pattern has the most 2-letter combinations of any pattern. (29)Quote: ams288I see Wordle 335 X/6 is trending on Twitter so I feel better that it’s throwing a lot of people for a loop.
About 17 hours of computer processing time went into creating and compiling this table. It might be unique. I haven't seen a list like this, for 2-letter patterns, anywhere else.

(Please note that "LV" is listed as a valid word for the pattern SxAxE and "BU" is listed as a valid answer to the pattern xxTCH . I used the original 2,315 word dataset as my source, which includes SLAVE and BUTCH and the other seven or so words the NY Times removed.)

It's not often I'm disappointed with a three, but this is one of those time. In fact, I'm sure the first time. I knew my second turn would probably not be correct, because I don't recall the past tense of a verb ever being the answer. However, it was all I could come up with. I try to keep myself to a time limit of a cup of coffee for the whole game, and what little coffee I had left was getting cold. So I threw out the only word I could think of.
In the future, I need to consider the possibility of double-letters more strongly. This is not the first time I've been vexed by a double-letter.
Grrr. I really had a strong chance at a two and blew it. I feel like I hit the ball off the tee to one inch away from the hole and blew the easy putt. I suck at Wordle.
