First, I apologize for listing Midwest AP twice. Clerical error. I just randomized, and he shall be on team 2.
Second, let me clarify some rules.
Going forward, advance votes will not be allowed. If you’re a team captain and can’t vote, appoint someone else. If you don’t hear from a team member, make a decision without him.
You may change your vote. I’ll accept the last one submitted. I would prefer you not invoke this rule.
Again, lying is allowed, except by me.
Let the game resume.
I was born and raised there, and I love it. Very beautiful area. My Mother still lives there right by Sehome Hill.Quote: WizardGreetings from Bellingham WA.

Just to be clear, this is the RULE. Part of the game. OD might say he will pay up but HE DOES NOT HAVE TO. People might say they will share BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE TO. People might have said they will pool at the end BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE TO.
I did not lie in the last game, the record will show. I will not lie in this game. Others did. I can’t remember who though...

What if THAT is a lie? How are we supposed to know if you're telling the truth about whether or not you can lie? Hmm...the rabbit hole goes deep with this conspiracy.
I think that lying about the way you voted or about how you intend to vote is perfectly acceptable. Making a commitment to share what you win and then not doing so is a bang out of order and constitutes the unforgivable offence of welching.Quote: SOOPOOJust to be clear, this is the RULE. OD promising a bribe and instructing mods to nuke him if he welches on that is a risky strategy :o) If I didn't deliver the funds to Mike, then he would simply deduct them from my moderator wages anyway. Then he'd fire me.
Anyone who has not made a commitment to share but who expects to receive a share when the game is over will be at the adjudicator's mercy.
If you haven't already commited to share, then please make your intention clear. We don't want a massive squabble at the end.
Personally, I feel that after the announcements of the final set of results, that pooling should be done on the basis of commitments already given and we should not give Mike an administrative headache. Moving these nickles and dimes about could just get dissipated in paypal fees.
We DO KNOW that Mike will play fair. He'll explain or resolve any errors fairly and he will deliver what he says he'll deliver.

If you don't want it public knowledge, tell somebody by PM and authorise them to reveal that PM at the end of the game.
We will all appreciate your clarification come the day of reckoning.

For years I had trouble getting one, they claimed I had one already, but I wasn't aware of it. Went to the site the other day and was able to get in and make a password using my email address. I have no idea what the problem was, I've heard of many people out there having problems though.Quote: NathanI will share. ;) Still don't have a PayPal account, however. ;) :/
Easy solution to that is to ask Wizard to give your share to charity... or me. I might need it !Quote: NathanI will share. ;) Still don't have a PayPal account, however. ;) :/

Thanks OD for putting this together as I had no idea where things were and with a current $2.05 I don't see me retiring just yet.
Definitely in for pooling and spinning it up :-)

This gives me an idea... What if we all resign except for the highly paid mods OD and BBB under the assumption that we are not really resigning, but allowing them to maximize the pooled winnings on everyone's behalf?

Basically, to be honest about the pooling and stuff.... WHO CARES. At the end of the game people will have like $2-$5, and we can see who does what with it then. That doesn't really affect the game that much and in the end we will know what each person does and form our own opinions about it. I think it should be pretty clear that at this point we have the 'majority' in the pool/share column, so let's just get back to the game and work that out at the end.Quote: SOOPOOJust to be clear, this is the RULE. Hmm, I figure the Wiz could stop this with his rules and 'teams.' If enough officially resign from the game then the Wiz will cancel the game. If we fake resign and leave power up to a small few, the Wiz will simply make everyone else captains, and thus they can do what they want (like those not interested in pooling). So a good idea, but not a feasible one in my opinion... but I like where your head's at, and keep thinking ;-). I definitely feel like there's a way we can AP the Wiz, which is really the goal of the game for me =D.Quote: prozema...This gives me an idea... I still maintain our bet strategy, regardless of the rules thus far, is to try to SPLIT the Share/Steal votes evenly. That way we only EVER lose 1/2n of the prize pool money, where n is the number of teams/individuals (for non team rounds) in play that try to steal for themselves. In special rounds like this one where the Wiz offers more money to all vote share, we need to confirm all captains are willing to vote share in order to go for the extra money, but that's where the headache comes in. So if we want the max money we have to deal with it, but if we want to just win and win together, then F it and just split the Share/Steal votes evenly.

It's crazy how much all these rich AP/game inventors care about pooling such a small sum of money.
It's been discussed MANY times before on many different platforms... Even the MIT pro's wives/etc talk about how the AP's will apply it to all aspects of life, like bargain hunting/etc. It's not really something you can control or change if you're worth millions even. If I was a billionaire, I still wouldn't want to get ripped off. I'd still pick up cereal boxes and compare net weight with price per ounce. It's just how I think and how I live my life, regardless how much is in my bank account. Most AP's are this way or become this way since they have to get used to caring about every single penny of EV and they have to think about every which way they can maximize their EV. This inevitably carries over to real life, so the amounts don't matter, it's the principle =).Quote: SM777It's crazy how much all these rich AP/game inventors care about pooling such a small sum of money.

However, note that round 3 teams stealing had 5 people saying they would pool among them, so less than half that round was lost to the other poolers, only to those not pooling who voted Share. Silver lining to the forfeited bonus.
Moving forward to round 4, 4 of 5 listed on OnceDear's team have said they are pooling, so that should put at least $48 extra into the pool, with Mike's $20 if we accept ODs offer. Midwest AP may or may not be on that team, since he's duped, but OD pledged $12/team member.
Edit: MAP has been placed on team 2. ODs team is 4 members, all of whom already committed to share. OD has pledged $15/player for a total of $60.
So the smart move seems to be to go for that offer.
