The arm remains attached to the bus throughout, suggesting it is key to the stunt. However, it does not appear fake in the closeups. I suspect a magnetic approach, with the fellow's upper torso strapped with magnets of a sort that could be powered up/down, with his touch to the bus a key for the magnetic effect to apply. Interesting stunt.

I think the lift and lowering part is put in for effect. Since they chose not to show anything but the close-up.
I imagine there are people good enough to make a brace that looks like one of your arms. It doesn't have to bend, or move so the detail could be kept intact.

Not sure how that was done but fake arm seems the most logical. You don't actually see him going up and down just dangling feet next to the bus with no full body shot so that could be easily set up.
Wonder if you have to buy a ticket to ride on the outside of the bus.

D'oh, fake arm, for sure.
It looks different than his "real arm," it never seems to change its "grip," and gee, he just happens to be wearing loose, flowing clothing which can easily conceal his real arm, strapped to his side.
Nothing to see here, boys and girls.

Its the arm. He has on a steel body brace
