Okay, I know this is kind of stupid, but which character on the Facts of Life did you find most attractive? To remind you there was:

Jo: upper left
Blair: upper right
Tootie: lower left
Natalie: lower right

I've never seen the show but have to say Tootie looks rather sexy.

It seems to be socially acceptable to say what race preference you have when it comes to sexual attraction, so I will say that White Women generally get most of my attention. But in this case, those three women don't seem to do it for me and I am voting for Tootie!

edit: this would have to be another thread, maybe I'll do that, but I could see Natalie making the best wife; my experiences in life have pretty much taught me that a guy's idealized lover may not make the best partner for marriage. So there is a vote on the side for Natalie, who actually by no means do I find unattractive. BTW I have never seen the show.

That dilemma more clearly seen in the Ginger or Maryann question. I used the word "attracted," which I think speaks to an initial response, rather than a careful analysis of who would make the best wife. In the case of Maryann, her innocent nature and cheerfully going about domestic chores, things generally associated with a good wife, make her seem attractive.

In the case of the Facts of Life, I found Tootie the prettiest, but Jo to have the most interesting personality.

I never really got into the show. Saw a couple episodes when it originally ran, but otherwise ignored it.

I've never dated a black woman. Flirted, yes, bet never dated. Of those four, I also think Tootie is the one I'd be most likely to flirt with.

So I voted for Tootie. Does that answer the question?

Then again, based solely on the photo, Jo seems too butch, Blair seems too bitch, and Natalie seems too much like an older sister. Tootie seems the most sexy of the bunch.

I feel I also have to speak out on behalf of Natalie.

Yes, she's a bit more full figured than the other girls, but I always thought she had the best sense of humor, which to me is attractive.

But ok, for first glance physical attractiveness I guess it's Blair for me.

I always liked Jo the best. Blair just looks too high-maintence form the get-go. Even watching the show (OK< I admit I watched it in the day), Blair was a more snobbish charachter. Jo was way more world-wise.

Since this site is about gambling after all, here is how I see them:

Blair: Casino-Wynn or Venitian. Game: Roulette

Jo: Casino-Stardust (before it closed) or Flamingo Game: Poker Room after she bets at the sportsbook

Tootie: Casino-Caesars Palace Game: Blackjack

Natalie: Casino-Harrah's Game: Casino War

Nailed it! LOL!

Except maybe Natalie. She seems like more of a slots gal to me. Kitty Glitter I'm thinking.

AZ I match your opening statement completely (even the shame of watching first hand.)

My only alterations to your gaming references would be to put Jo downtown somewhere. I never made it to the Stardust, so it's hard for me to compare. And, Blair would probably be more like a snooty game of Baccarat.
Phil: I'm pretty sure that's illegal too. Alan: Yeah, maybe after 9/11, where everybody got so sensitive. Thanks a lot, bin Laden.

Curiously I considered both of your ideas!

I put Jo in the 'Dust because of their legendary sportsbook.

Roulette just won me over vs Baccarat for Blair. Maybe because she had loads of cash and would be more concerned over the entertainment of the spinning wheel vs. lower house edge of Baccarat.

Must be our minds in sync due to our inherent Midwestern environment. If I remember correctly you're from the P-burgh area, correct? Me, I grew up about an hour north of C-bus. Very similar culture / values

Yes, Greater Pittsburgh area. Geographically more northeast than midwewst, culturally more midwest than northeast (thank god!)

The Appalachian Regional Commission covers 52 out of 67 counties in Pennsylvania. It's easier to list the ones that are NOT covered.
Adams County
Berks County
Cumberland County
Dauphin County
Franklin County
Lancaster County
Lebanon County
York County

Lehigh Valley Area
Lehigh County
Northampton County

Philadelphia Area
Philadelphia County
Bucks County
Chester County
Delaware County
Montgomery County

So basically the US government considers everything except Southeast Pennsylvania to be part of Appalachia.

Come on, AZ, don't you wish you were born somewhere north of San Francisco :)

Back on topic, I'd take Blair.

Maybe Idaho. rotflmao

Someone earlier called it right, Blair/Jo is another Ginger/MaryAnn or Jennifer/Bailey thing. Glamor/understated.

Kind of like Strip/Freemont St.

Bailey (Jan Smithers) was *smoking*. What's truly sad is that WKRP won't be released on DVD anytime soon because of music rights.

I prefer to say "understated" than "smoking" but to each his own.

I had no idea on the music rights. GD record companies are the stupidest businessmen I ever seen or heard of. The music industry always fights rather than embraces the latest technologies. They would make many times the record sales if someone heard the song Johnny Fever played than they would make from a one-disc royalty.

Natalie: Casino-Harrah's Game: Casino War

Not bad, not bad at all. I like the concept. Here is how I would cast them:

Blair: Agreed, roulette. Something classy yet easy. Somebody mentioned baccarat, but that is too serious and Asian for Blair.

Jo: Agreed on the games. However, I think she would pass on the tackyness of the Strip, and go for downtown.

Tootie: Agreed. Something social, and popular.

Natalie: Got disagree with War. Natalie was the best student on the show, as I recall. She would go for something more challenging than War. She is too outgoing for the machines. I could see her at any poker-based game, probably jumping from game to game. Since she was close friends with Tootie, I could see Tootie talking Natalie into playing blackjack.

You're right, of course. But this survey is more about impressions based on how they look, and is not dependent upon having watched the show.

I have Season 1 of WKRP on dvd,but had not seen the other seasons yet,so I did a google search. You can actually get the box set of all 4 seasons for $45.And yes,I agree Bailey is *smoking hot*.As far as the poll,I would have to take Blair although Jo is more worldly.

The one where you can buy all four seasons is a bootleg, meaning that either someone recorded them onto a DVD from broadcast or they came from a TV station... Fox did not release these DVDs.
