Yes, I drove in that day and had to drive home through the hail on the Kosciuszko Bridge. No fun at all! The Grand Central Parkway flooded at the Jackie Robinson Parkway but it was still barely passable. It took me three and a half hours to get home.

I don't know what day it was, but I was there last Thursday and the clouds were very ominous over Times Square!

That's a picture from downtown looking North West. You can see the UN on the far right then the Chrysler building a little further in then the Empire State building in the center. Way off on the left is Jersey City. If I had to guess, this picture was taken from one of the balconies in the Stuyvesant Town. The picture was taken with a very quick shutter speed because it was actually much brighter out.
Edit: Judging from the angle of the NY Life building, the picture had to be taken on East 27th Street. Here's my guess.
After looking at it more closely, you can see that the new World Trade Center is in the far left of the picture. It was so distant that I thought it was Jersey City. It is not. It's definitely the new WTC, almost completed. So in this picture, you have over 180 degrees of Manhattan.

Looks like an HDR. I wonder how many images are overlayed together to get that contrast and clarity.
