A friend of mine came across this Facebook ad with Shack talking and it sounds way off to me. I'm guessing it's fake but I was just wondering if the Wiz is selling his likeness for online casino advertising or if he's been hijacked by AI.
Even as a former journalist, I thought from the opening graphics and intro narration that it was real for a few seconds.
If it were the 90s, I'd say: Mike, I hope you have your lawyer on speed dial!

Mike will illuminate us but I have been researching AI lip synch generation and that looks further advanced than what I have seen possible.
Could be some new generator they are using but it looks more like on screen nervousness to me
I've been playing some mobile games, and the ads that pop up have scripts that sound just like this Facebook ad. I highly doubt that the Wizard would breathlessly hype a casino app in such a way — it would be a huge break from his endorsement style.
There's also the grainy video, poor editing between cuts, and didn't the opening narration say Wizard of Odds incorrectly? It all adds up to being highly sus. Nay verily, totally fake!

The opening off screen narrator is very AI sounding.
Grainy video and poor editing are NOT signs of an AI. Most AI is crisp,
AI has artifacts. I am talking Mike having six fingers or his eyes split in Two and then merge back together. AI artifacts are more like T2 morphing only unintentional.
Lip sync is very difficult. Lips can match but facial motions IN SYNCH are difficult. When Wiz looks upwards in thought that type of diverse facial actions are out of current AI capabilities.
Check out AI generated films on YouTube and you will see mostly static faces with voice over narration.
Right now the hype about deepfakes is causing everyone to see deep fakes regardless of how real the image actually is.

Caesars btw I gave up on for sportsbetting, the website was really bad and at the time I was not wanting to use a smartphone for that activity, in case that worked better. In particular, you often didn't know if you were in on the offer you were after, there wasn't a confirmation process like everybody else has [at the time, approx 2-3 yrs ago]
But I am quite unconvinced there is any reason to praise the site as "mike" was claiming
If that is truly Mike, then I'm a little surprised he would make such a statement about "other online casinos" such as the ones that advertise on this site.
I am basing my doubt on what AI CAN do.
It's not up to that level yet.

I'd be willing to give odds it's AI. Very similar to the Mr. Beast and other celebriyy AI ads for casinos. These are usually scam casinos, not the real casi o companies site.

Then again, it just doesn’t sound like Mike. Not the context per se, but the way he’s saying it is just off.
In particular, towards the end (and maybe elsewhere) he says “Caesar” not “Caesars”.
I find it hard to believe that anyone even remotely familiar would make that mistake.

You can try Hedra which is currently state of the art lipsync AND still requires an audio recording of the person AND will still give you that person face STARING straight into the camera.
Still image recreation is totally realistic to the point people will find it difficult to tell deep fakes.
Video footage and MOST ESPECIALLY with lipsynch is not.
FACTS for anyone who actually likes to do research for the truth.
Everything else in this thread is conjecture that's easily disproven based on current technology

On his livestreams recently, he said he wasn't going to Burning Man this year, and is going to be an every other year Burner from now on. So did he change his plans and go this year? He also said he had some travelling coming up and wasn't going to livestream until October. So maybe the dude is traveling and not burning?

I didn't bother him about this thread though. I am sure he will address it eventually. Until then we will just have to speculate.
You have my position and I am in agreement with D.Oz here. It is definitely not AI. At worst, it could be a video of him or portions of a video taken from elsewhere where a voice was dubbed in.
This purports to be from Channel 8, so the level of impersonation would involve not just impersonating the Wizard but also KLAS Vegas.

I find it much more believable that someone would monetize his time (prior statements to the contrary regardless) than AI technology is at the state of that video.
AI will get there. Probably in 6 months. It's not there now.
