I am currently studying strategy to be able to hole card Mississippi stud. I observed the “point” strategy Shacklford teaches is simpler than the one James Grosjean teaches in CAA. Does anyone know how much if any edge you would be losing by using the point strategy?

I don't own a copy of CAA because I don't care to spend $1,000 for a copy of a book that is becoming outdated.

Isn't there already a published strategy for hole carding Mississippi Stud in Eliot Jacobsen's Advanced Advantage Play?

Yes there is. I'm just wondering the difference as far as edge between Mike’s strategy and those other ones.

The only strategy I can find Shackleford has published on MS is a basic strategy which gives a house edge of 4.91%. This is optimal: there is no possible improvement on this number, anything Grosjean published could only match that.

Can you point me to the article if you meant something else? The advantage from hole-carding is also well established (eg known flop 54.87%). There's no way to improve on that it is the maximum edge from perfect play.

Agree with Gordon comment about Grosjean, no one should pay $1000 for information which is trivial to calculate.
