Hello, Im new to the forum but have been lurking for a while and I have a question for the Wizard. I play Bacaratt on the Wizard of Odds Website and have been running simulations for months now. My question is this:

I'm from Canada and when I play Video Bacaratt on their OLG website, it seems that I can never ever go up despite doing well on the Wizard site. The OLG site says payout is 98.88%, does that mean it's programmed like a slot and not a RNG like the Wizard site?

Im asking this because it seems like the OLG Video Bacaratt is super unfair and drains your money extremely quick and seems to be programmed to work like a slot, except for no jackpot. If this is not where you ask the Wizard I apologize but anyone can share their thoughts, Thank You.

No it means that the rules that the game abides by will eventually get to the payout percentages over a long period of time

Have you ever played the game you are claiming is unfair at your own home with your own decks and your own hands shuffling the cards?

No can't say that I have, but I have played with a live dealer online plenty of times, and even in comparison to that the OLG site seems to drain your money quicker. Please dont think I don't understand that a - EV game like Bacaratt will eventually make you lose. My question is can a game that's not live dealer be programmed so that there's very little Variance in comparison to a real game and gets quicker to the - EV result?

An RNG game could be fixed in that way such as to eliminate the variance that would normally be there giving you a fighting chance. If it represents a card game, then the rounds should represent those from a randomly shuffled deck IF IT IS A REAL MONEY GAME. To not do that, but to give the unrepresentative game that you suggest, would be illegal, as I understand it, in most US states. But this sounds like it is out of US jurisdiction.
I seem to recall certain online Blackjack games have been caught cheating in that way.

Please provide a link to the OLG game you are concerned about.
If you are not yet allowed to post links, just break it up with spaces where the dots are.

Unfortunately, even if I give you a link you need to be an Ontario resident and have an OLG account for you to play the game. My understanding is that it's not illegal to program it the way you described as long as they do payout some money and have the appropriate disclaimers such as the expected loss and payout. Also, this is the government's own website so I'm sure they understand the loopholes required to screw someone. If you want to see the game here it is
