My local casino doesn’t offer my favorite table game. Whom should I speak with at that casino to request that they add it? Have any of you ever had success in convincing a casino to add a game?

My advice would be to contact the casino management. You may or may not get a response, but they might surprise you. Or more likely disappoint.

The DTG. Director of Table Games.
I invented a few casino games. Info: http://www.DaveMillerGaming.com/ ————————————————————————————————————— Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood? 😁

It could also be that they don't have the money to pay for the licensing of having those particular games in their casino...

I am a firm believer that if casino management let's their players assist them in game selection, they will build huge player loyalty.

Take some of that seed money for the monthly BJ tournament once every 6 months, invite 36 of your best table game players to a roped off six table pit that uses tournament chips and let them play 6 new games for ten minutes a piece, one of which you may be thinking of adding to the floor. Ask the developer or distributor to have someone there to deal the game to your players, it is the least they can do if they want to have a chance to place a new game and it limits the casino's labor costs for the event.

Give your players $25 of free play for completing a small response form covering each game and for $450 of theo value given away, you have entertained your best players for an hour plus, received great feedback, created a great experience for them and will have them talking to all their friends about this or that new game they got to play. Heck, I bet you could make this an event they cash in player card points to attend and many would jump at the chance to try the games and have a voice.....now what is your net cost?

It seems like such a win/win, but I only know about Stations that used to do something like this and I think they have since abandoned it. I just don't get it, but what do I know?

From my expereience, casino managers do not want to try something new. It is too much work on their part and most new things fail. They are content to wait and let others take the lead.

As a VP from a large casino told me, they do not lead, they are followers. With enough installs in place, I can talk to them at a later date. From another DTG, he actually said he liked the game. So I asked him to make a deal and I never got a response. That is the business we are in for game developers.

As for what Paradigm said, it makes sense to me but for the casino part, it is too much work.

" I just don't get it, but what do I know? "

A hell of a lot more than I know. But your idea would suggest that table game managers
understand gambling, let alone common sense. How many casinos maximize table game revenues? damn few. Usually when a casino gets a new General Manager, the pit wonders how many tables they will lose in the near future.

The mentality of having dealers standing there doing nothing at a higher limit, versus filling that table, is the norm rather than the exception. And new games must produce at once or out they go. There is a reason 6/5 BJ is the fastest growing table game. As labor
costs increase, to say nothing of the headaches of labor negotiations, vacations, scheduling, etc, more demands will be put upon
table games. Most will be replaced with Electronic table games.

All I usually see , for the most part, are gray haired old men at the live craps and/or roulette tables. Bubble craps and electronic Roulette are often filled two deep with younger players.

Dealers, ask not for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for thee !
Shed not for her the bitter tear Nor give the heart to vain regret Tis but the casket that lies here, The gem that filled it Sparkles yet

Yeah, do a Focus Group...
Unfortunately, I've only heard of ONE casino doing such a thing...and that was Grand Sierra Resort (when it had just switched over to GSR from Reno Hilton)
Seriously though, seems like a smart idea...

I agree that it takes work and that casino's willing to be leaders are few and far between. My point is that as part of this process, whether they put a new game in or not, they will bring a unique experience to their best table game players. Unique experiences at your property vs. the one 50 miles up the road are what keep players loyal to your property for their every week play.

How about this for the DTG response to every game distributor and independent developer that comes knocking at your door: We don't look at anything until it gets demo'd to our players. Leave your game information and we will contact you when the next event is scheduled. By the way, you will need to deal it for us, so brush up on your dealing skills if they are rusty. Thanks for stopping by!

And as an independent game developer, all you want is feedback and a chance to compete for a spot on the floor. Have to believe that is what SHFL, DEQ & Galaxy want as well. Let the propety's players take a look at the offerings and see if any of them click.

I gave one casino an option to talk with a local reporter. They can get free press and explain the process it take to get a new game in.

I called a reporter and gave them a story idea. What it take to get a successful game put in. How hard it is etc... The reporter is interested in doing a story. Let the forum know how this pans out. Since I don't have any connection yet, I am doing anything that is reasonable to get in front of a VP/DTG and get my side bets in.

As not to hijack the post, go find the distrubutor who has the game you want put in and have them talk to the casino. If the game is other casinos, you might have success with this route.
