Has anyone been to the Rivers Casino in Chicago? I’m going to be in Chicago in a few weeks and was looking to open a line of credit at one of the Chicagoland casinos. How does rivers compare to the Grand Victoria in Elgin? Do they have a nice high limit room? Thanks for the help.

I've been there, but I don't know the specific answers you've asked for. I will say that it's non-smoking throughout, it is very nice and clean, and the people we encountered were friendly. It is kind of small. That was fine with me.

Rivers is the best casino in Illinois. That is a lot different than best casino in Chicagoland. I think most people on this board would agree that if you want to be within 45 minutes of downtown, then Horseshoe is the way to go.

I asked Mrs Mosca, and we both agreed, we liked Horseshoe Hammond much better.

Thanks for the help. I've been to the Horseshoe Hammond before and am a fan. I will probably check out both Rivers and the Horseshoe while I'm visiting Chicago.

Rivers has higher table mins than most in the area and it is certainly more crowded than Grand Victoria. For atmosphere I prefer Rivers for pure gambling and friendliness GV.. the craps dealers and boxmen remember your name I haven't been to Horse Shoe as it is a bit to far south for a casual trip for me. I'm not sure about markers at GV, I know you can get a marker at Rivers.
