I am in my 50s and only go to AC once or twice a year. I am not looking for drinking or clubbing. I am looking for a nice place to hand out and gamble with nice restaurants, nice service and nice people/gamblers to be around. I would not mind getting some comps for my play.
I mainly play Pai Gow Tiles, so want a casino that has that. If you have suggestions for other good casinos, let me know. However, with the decline in AC, I actually think Borgata may be the only good one left.
If you have comments on Borgata, Harrah's or any other casino you recommend, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Borgata is definitely the tops in AC. I like visiting there, but some might say, overrated. Think it keeps losing a step here and there, but still above the competition. You'll probably be happiest there based on your wishes. Pai gai tiles I have no idea about anywhere.

I suppose it depends on what you are looking for, really. There can be almost no question that Borgata is objectively the nicer of the two casinos, and they also do tier matching, but I don't know how far that extends geographically. They might not even do the tier matching anymore, but if they got rid of it, that would be a pretty new development.
When it comes to comps, what sort of comps do you want? Are you just looking to get RFB comps, or are you hoping to score some free play and/or match play for future visits? Where you are going to want to go is going to vary greatly based on that.
I'm afraid I don't know anything about who might have PGT.
If you regularly visit, or may visit, casinos in other geographical locations in which CET has a presence, they'll often use your action at one property as a basis to give you room (and perhaps other comps) in advance at other properties. That's somewhat unique to CET, but not entirely, though they are certainly the most geographically spread out casino company to have such reciprocity.

I go to AC two or three times a year.
I like Caesars and stay in the Centurion Tower (the newer of the hotels). They have good room rates and comps while staying. There are three really good restaurants, including a new restaurant that opened about a year and a half ago from Gordon Ramsey.
I've done well at the craps tables there every time I've gone and they have fire bets.
They have Pai Gow Tiles, Fortune Pai Gow and EZ Pai Gow tables.
I've had zero issues playing here and it's been a fun experience every time.

I frequent AC and can tell you that The Borgata is the Best... hands down. If you want a nice atmosphere with upscale customers and great restaurants, The Borgata is your place. Caesars is second on my list. Plenty of restaurants in the casino and across the walkway on the Boardwalk Pier. If you are taking a companion, he/she will definitely like either casino. Harrahs gets a little young and loud on weekends with their Pool Lounge.

Those are the two nicest places in AC. We prefer Borgata, but the last time we were at Harrah's they gave us the penthouse suite, so we are kinda partial to them now.
I was never really a fan of Trop, only go over there to use the comps that I must be getting my mistake. The Cuban and Italian restaurant there are both very good though.
Quote: ToobsNo one is a fan of Tropicana?
Trop has some very good restaurants (I specifically remember Il Verdi being excellent). The comps are pretty good but they're fairly quick now to take you off the mailing list if they think you have the better of them. The actual casino floor is pretty grimy and the dealers/crew tend to be less professional than some of the more upscale joints. It's got a poker room but it's run down and very low limit. Plenty of young people and it's a decent club scene if you're into that, but that also means obnoxious drunks at a higher proportion than many other places in town.
Borgata is far and away the nicest casino in AC, and I personally don't think it's close, but it is kind of annoying that it's isolated from all the others. If I were staying on the Boardwalk it would probably go: Caesars>Trop>Ballys>Resorts. Caveat being that Trop has better food and better nightlife than Caesars (it evens out a little if you include Ballys as being part of Caesars), so if those things are important to you, I'd go with Trop.
