I would like some help issuing where to play in PA. I will be visiting some friends in Gettysburgh-PA and would like some recomendations of nice nearby casinos. Are there any? I mostly play blackjack, baccarat, caribean stud and poker.
Thanks in advance!

Blackjack rules are set by law:

• Blackjacks will be paid off at 3-to-2.

• Dealer must stand on soft 17

• Players may double down on any two cards (some sites limit doubling to hands totaling 9, 10 or 11).

• Doubling after splitting pairs is allowed.

• Late surrender is allowed

Pairs may be split to a maximum of three hands; aces may not be re-split.

Deal is continuous shuffle; a hand is discarded, the next hand is played, both hands go into the top of the shoe.

The closest casino to Gettysburg is Hollywood Penn National, a racino. No Caribbean. Mini-baccarat, 4 Card and 3 Card, roulette and craps. The pay tables for 3 Card are downright horrifying; Pairs Plus is 1-3-5-25-35. Ante Bonus used to pay 1-3-4, it's been put back to 1-4-5. 4 Card is just as bad, Aces Up pays 1-3-4-5-7-40-50. I haven't played there, and I probably won't.

I have played at Mohegan Pocono (my home casino, I live about 10 minutes away), Sands in Bethlehem, and Mt Airy. Sands and Mohegan are kind of funky, but nice; they have very much a local feel. Mt Airy has a more cosmopolitan air about it.

It is only slightly closer than Charles Town in West Virginia, but it sounds like CTown isn't offering lower limits and many tables according to reports.

The Eisenhower Hotel
on Emmitsburg Road is the proposed site for a new casino, but it is not open yet.

The hotel is open, but the casino has not been added.

i just came back from Hollywood Casino in Grantsville. It as about 2 pm. The table Minimums were $15. However they had sticky notes out stating that at 2:30 they were changing the mimimums to $25. Also in one section of the casino they had continuous shufflers they were dealing from and another section they were dealing out of the shoe. Thought that was a bit strange. The shoe area was noticably busier.

The Mormons in NV seemed to have made a lot of $$ for casinos.
I have a bewitched egg that I use to play VP with and I have net over 900k with it.

As a former resident of Central PA, I can say it's not quite in the middle of their area. It's much more Harrisburg-centric than Lancaster County. The differences between the Capital Area, the York Area, and the Lancaster Area are more profound than they look on the map. It would take a days trip with the horse and buggy to get to Grantville.

Update on Hollywood Casino in Grantville Pa.... I've been playing there regularly. The rules hasn't change and probably won't. They have CSM and Shoe dealt games. Mornings are 10 dollar minimum, max is ALWAYS 500 regardless if the minimum bets are raised. Late mornings they usually switch to 25 dollar minimums. Evennings I see 15, 25, and 50 dollar minimum. Back counting is no problem and mid shoe entry is no problem thus far. One huge complaint however, COMPS SUCK!! I've been playing there a lot and thus far has not recieve a single comp. Time to try out Harrah's in Chester Pa.
